Help me out

My dad wanted me to get this movie from Netflix that he seen a while ago. Problem is he doesn't remember name of the movie or any of the actors.
He told me it was about a con. Everyone was playing cards at a table, and everyone at the table was conning everyone else outside of the card game.
He said he thought the actors had foreign accents, probably British I would guess. He said the year was around '89/'90. Anyway, he said I would like it and I wanted to find out the name of it, any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like "The Sting" but that was 73 I believe.

It's more recent than 89-90 but it sounds a little like...

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Sounds to me like Shade with Sylvester Stallone but that was 2002. Although no accents...other than Stallone's incomprehensible mumble.

"He drew the first card....not me."

Thanks for the quick replies. He says the title is shorter than Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. One or two word title he believes. Watched the preview to The Sting, that was not it, but I have not seen it and it looked good so I put it in my Netflix queue :)
Yea...this is going to bug the crap out of me now trying to find this movie, any more help would be good...and it is definately older than '02.

Ok...I found a movie made in 1987 called "House of games". Might be the one your looking for.

That is it, House of Games. Thanks Revell. Moved it to the top of my queue. Looks good from the preview.

Could it be either Maverick or even Rounders? These are a stretch because of the dates and accents you mentioned, but I figure it's worth a shot because memories can get fuzzy to even the best of us. Both good movies, just the same.

Edit:
Didn't see that this was already solved above. Oh well, still good resource for card-playing movies!
