i like the other 2, but i don't think Amy Adams will win.

That best supporting actor categorey is really the only good race among the "major" awards, but the other categories are more interesting.

Mr. Cinema 03-03-06 05:10 PM

Supporting Actor is really the only award with any sense of drama. It went from a 2-man race a few weeks ago (Clooney, Giamatti) and suddenly expanded to a 4-man (adding Gyllenhaal and Dillon). I still don't think the last 2 have a good chance, but their names have popped up over the last couple of weeks. I think it's too late for them, however.

I hope Adams pulls an upset, but I think Weisz is a very safe pick.

and I'm in as well

Well Gyllenhaal won the BAFTA, that combined with Brokeback winning Best Picture would provide a decent amount of support I suppose. I don't think Dillon has a shot though. Crash seems to have overstated support. And hell, Dillon didn't even win at SAGs, where Crash's win for ensemble was supposed to be so big. I think you're right in that it will be either Clooney or Giamatti. I'm gonna go Giamatti based on the fact that too many people seem confused and put-off by Syrianna.

Bumping for the day!

The grand prize will surely be some DVDs, but will be announced on Monday evening!

Good luck and have a great Oscar Sunday!

Mr. Cinema 03-05-06 01:47 PM

I hope I don't receive any that I already own. ;)

Mao 03-05-06 01:52 PM

Oh, Mr. Cinema, I'll find something you've never heard of, trust me! :D

moviesaregreat 03-05-06 04:38 PM

I just joined. Good luck to all.

Mr. Cinema 03-05-06 05:15 PM

I made 2 quick changes, but they were in the short film categories. Whomever lucks up and gets those right will have a great chance to win. Assuming they didn't make any stupid picks for the rest of the awards.

Zodiac_Speaking 03-05-06 05:20 PM

count the zodiac in!

JumpCutz 03-05-06 05:47 PM

Mr. Cinema 03-05-06 11:09 PM

Zodiac_Speaking 03-05-06 11:14 PM

how can someone win with the name of mr. cinema, when his #1 film was king kong??

nah, congrats. I was in third with 17, next year.

Rogue588 03-05-06 11:25 PM

Do I get anything for being 37th...? :eyebrow:

And Mr. Cinema was right with his number 1 pick..

pilot 03-05-06 11:42 PM

I didn't do good :(

Decker 03-06-06 01:03 AM

Man, I was right there with you Mao, tied for 4th. Shoulda figured about March of the Penguins, but thought it was too insubstantial to win. Guess I could say the same thing about Crash, come to think of it...

Hmm, I thought I did. Right now, I get an error message when I try to access the page.

In case I can't log in again, could someone tell me what place I was? Just out of curiosity -- thanks!

LorenzoL 03-06-06 04:00 AM
