Caché (Hidden)

Has anyone seen this yet? It just opened in San Francisco last week, I'm watching it this weekend.

I really like daniel auteuil. And this has the look from the trailer of a really good psychological thriller.

Trailer in quicktime.

Caught this at the closing night of the New York Film Festival - it's one that will keep you thinking long after that last (and perplexing) final shot.

I love Daniel Auteuil, Binoche and have seen quite a bit of Haneke's other exercises in cinematic dread, so this was one I was curious to catch. It follows his usual theme of the bourgeois under attack from outside forces. It's irritatingly vague in parts, although the final shot, static in a way that's reminiscent of the films opening, leaves one with various ways of interpreting that which came before. For this reason alone, make sure to stick around and pay attention during the final credit sequence. It may not wrap up all the loose threads holding this piece together, but it will make for an interesting post theater conversation.

It's been out here for a month or so... I'm hoping to see it early next week.

One of the best films of the year.

Don't expect the film to be all wrapped up in a bow by the time it's over like the usual Hollywood crap. You will have to think about the events and come up with your own conclusions.

Couldn't disagree more. I just watched it. I enjoyed it, but it completely fell apart at the end.

Spoiler:
The two sons meeting on the steps at the end. I thought it was an easy way out and has the built-in defense that if you didn't like it then you are just a mindless drone who needs to be spoonfed every little detail. I liked the majority of the movie. The performances were strong and the movie was well paced. If they would have just given you a bit more to work with I would have felt more satisfied.

So who shot all the survillence videos? And don't say "it doesn't matter" because it could matter depending on who it is.

Maybe I should revisit this one. I started watching it a while back and became so damn bored and uninterested that I turned it off after about a half hour.

I'm a big Daniel Auteuil fan as well. Saw this movie, I thought it was okay... A little too long with not enough happenning to engage the average viewer. Personally, I liked "My Best Friend" better.

I still think this is the film of the decade.

Great movie. I recently caught it on TV and I was so drawn in I ended up watching it again.

It's a thought-provoking movie, but let's not go crazy.
