Super Bowl previews:what can we expect?
 

As we all know, the SuperBowl is prime for showing previews of blockbuster movies one normally only sees in the the theater. We have several slated for this summer and I am certain that we will some of the following:

Poseidon
M:I-3
The Da Vinci Code
X-3
maybe the movie "Exxes" (sp?) with Jennifer Anniston

I'm sure Superman Returns will show up. I'm hoping to see Zodiac as well. The Departed?

Forgot about Supes. Hopefully it will be something new and not the same teaser.

In addition to what's been mentioned, I expect trailers for Cars and Miami Vice.

Snakes on a Plane, obviously.

Cars was the first one to come to my mind as well.

Saw the preview for MV at the theater over the weekend. :eek: It looks dreadful.

Hoping for Pirates of the Caribbean 2. The only "big" movie that looks interesting.

What date is the Superbowl?

Sunday. 6:30 Eastern.

Well, since the bowl is on ABC, Pirates 2 is a lock...

Do you mean THE BREAK-UP? That's the comedy with Aniston and Vaughn. I'll be surprised if there aren't any spots for Da Vinci, X3 and M:i-III. Outside of those though, I'm not sure what we'll see...hopefully something awesome.

My man Richard Dean Anderson is in a MasterCard spot as MacGuyver. Hopefully this paves the way for a new made-for-TV MacGuyver movie, ala Walker: Texas Ranger. That would kick ass.

I imagine there will be a trailer for X3, Superman, and The DaVinci Code, possibly one for Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm hoping for a new A Scanner Darkly trailer, but apparently they're bogging down - don't know if Warner will recoup costs on the thing unless they start pushing it early and often.

That looks like the kind of thing Steve Jobs and Pixar should be putting a stop to at Disney. Awful.

I can't wait to watch this movie this summer!

Why are people so down on Cars? The trailers haven't even revealed what the plot is, for chrissakes. Pixar hasn't let us down yet, so I think I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I actually see the movie or read reviews for it. The animation looks pretty great too.

Superman Returns better be on that list ;)

POTC is too short, I guess it is expensive to put that stuff up there.

i think we can expect...a lot of commercials...some witty, some not so much. Old timers singing at the beginning and in the middle of a football game played by two teams of two different conferences, but that is just a guess.

Actually the preview on the Toy Story dvd (can't remember if it is one or two) does reveal the plot and it is nothing special. Race car snob, which is equal to sports star in this world, is stuck in a po-dunk town and learns the value of other cars.

I've heard from a few places that Superman Returns won't have a preview during the Super Bowl, but V for Vendetta will.

And that I don't understand. How can WB miss the chance to pump up Superman Returns ? Supermanhomepage.com confirmed that there is no new teaser during the game or even for 'V'. WTF? This film comes out in June, start hyping it up more than that teaser trailer that showed NOTHING . The way they are marketing this, I almost hope it is a complete faliure.
