Werner Herzog's Grizzly Man on Discover Ch. Feb.3
I don't know which forum this should be in but since it's about the film I put it in 'Movie Talk' instead of 'TV Talk' forum.
Just an FYI. I noticed that the Discovery Channel will be playing Grizzly Man this Friday night (2/3/06), at 8pm Est.
I don't know if it's edited or not
www.dsc.discovery.com
[note]the website has it listed as Sat. Feb. 3 but the TV listings show it as Fri. 2/3
I haven't had a chance to check out the DVD yet so I'll definately check this out

I just edited my original post but the website lists it as Sat Feb. 3 but the promos on Discovery channel list it as Fri. Feb. 3. as does the website's channel listing.
P.S. 2/3 is a Friday

SILVER SPRING, Md., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The critically acclaimed film GRIZZLY MAN, documenting Timothy Treadwell's obsession with the Grizzly Bear, will make its television debut on Friday, February 3 at 8 PM (ET/PT) on Discovery Channel. DIARY OF THE GRIZZLY MAN, which follows at 10:30 PM, is a never-before-seen 30-minute film commissioned by Discovery Channel that delves deeper into the mind and madness of Timothy Treadwell and addresses controversies such as claims of fictitious interviews in GRIZZLY MAN. Outtakes from Treadwell's original video footage will also be screened for the first time as part of the exclusive companion film. In order to put Treadwell's experience into context, Zoologist Dave Salmoni recreates Treadwell's experience by getting within clawing distance of a huge grizzly in Yellowstone National Forest. Also addressed are provocative questions prompted by the film such as: Were the bears really under siege from poachers? How did Treadwell really feel about the National Park Service, which was officially responsible for the bears' safety, and how did he manage to survive for months on end in the primeval forest?
________
Came here to post about this freebie on DC and then you guys tipped me off to the extra footage. Found the above explanation. Gonna set up to start taping at 10:30pm.

I wonder if any footage of the film's AFI/Silver Theatre's Silverdoc's Q&A with director Herzog will be incorporated - if at all.

I rented and watched this doc yesterday. It was incredible. Watching a man slip into insanity if front of your eyes was mesmerizing. I will definately watch the "Diary" companion show.

I also wonder if they'll play his final recording...I thought I heard the film doesn't. Of course, that might be a little too intense.

Definitly worth catching. I saw it on DVD a couple weeks ago and was shocked it wasn't nominated for Best Documentary of the Year. I thought it was way better than march of the penguins (granted, I haven't seen the Enron movie yet...)

It's a damn shame this isn't on HD.
