Razzies has never been worst of the worst, it's worst of the established.

There are hundreds of movies made in the 40's, 50's, and 60's that are not only amazing but appropriate for kids. I showed my younger brother Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush and he enjoyed it quite a bit. If I had kids, I'd much rather expose them to the classics instead of these crappy family films that are churned out every week.

Agreed. But I guess I was thinking in terms of going to the movies, versus just seeing movies at home. It still can be a nice family thing to do.

I agree with all of these except Speed Racer, HSM3 and Rambo... sure those demos doesn't appeal to everyone but for the kind of films they were, they were pretty well received.... the rest however are pure shit... I think 'The Love Guru' really needs to clean up at these awards...just fucking awful.

I didn't see it. I did attempt to watch "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" which I thought should have been on there.

Rambo and Stallone don't belong anywhere near those lists.

The only one I saw was The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which I had low expectations for anyway.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

Hold on a second, are these the actual nominations or just Chris scc's idea of what they should be? The Razzies are always announced the day before the Oscars which aren't announced til Jan. 22. According to the Razzie website they don't announce this year's list till Jan. 21.

Did Hell freeze over and I somehow missed it?

I loved Cloverfield personally, though.

That said, the Razzies would be more fun if they limited the list a little, have 5 or 6 "Worst movies" and not list every single big bad movie there was for the year.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

Pretty good choices. Can't believe all the love for Rambo. Was it the bad script? The bad acting? Silly cgi blown up heads? Or Stallones HGH enlarged head?

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

Whenever Stallone makes a movie, it pretty much automatically gets Razzie nominated whether it deserved it or not.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

From that link:

Update: Apparently these are not the official Razzie Award nominations. Here is the e-mail I just received:

One of our Voting Members posted the preliminary choices from their RAZZIE Nominating Ballot on the MTV Movie Blog, apparently unclear that it was NOT a final list, and from there things have “gone viral” — With even the IMDb today posting what purports to be a list of our nominees for this year’s 29th Annual RAZZIE Awards.

ACTUAL nominations will be announced on January 21 — The now traditional day before The Little Gold Naked Man Awards unveil their choices. While this is a situation entirely out of our control, I do apologize for any confusion the bogus/viral news items may have caused.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

I never knew they nominated so many films or actors per catagory. Rambo? Seriously, I could think of 10 other films NOT on the list that were worse then Rambo. And Tom Cruise for Worst Actor? They must just have it out for him.

I'm guessing Al Pacino's nod is for 88 Minutes.

Which Stallone film doesn't deserve one, other than Cop Land?

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

Rambo was one of the the better films I saw last year. No reason it should be on there.

Everything else seems okay.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

I thought that the Clone Wars wasn't horrible. Not sure if it was Razzie worthy.

I'm really pulling for Uwe Boll to win for In the Name of the King.

Yeah, I always thought the Razzies were right before the Oscar nods, that's why I was confused. Thread title should be changed...
