Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
The Toy Fair Exclusives usually are actually limited items. Some have sold faster than others in the past but they do usually go faster than other figures. I probably am going to get Luke disguised as a Storm Trooper for sure. The price is about what I expected even though its a bit more than I'd like it to be. Hopefully we get a Han to pair with him soon. Agent Hill is tempting to me just because she looks great but the only other SHIELD agent I have is Black Widow.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
I don't need an Agent Hill, but I already have a Widow and Coulson... argh. And I don't even have a Fury...

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Probably going to get this one. I've always liked Rudd and the suit looks cool.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Quick question for any BigBadToyStore.com customers on here: Can you cancel a pre-order with them any time before the item is released (even if it's six months later) and not get charged anything? I'd like to reserve an item, but don't want to be stuck paying a restocking fee if I eventually find it cheaper elsewhere.
Their policy states: "No cancellations will be acepted after 15 days of the product purchase. This policy applies only to items that have not yet shipped." Does that mean pre-orders as well? Also, is there a way to remove your payment info from their system after placing an order? |
Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
I'm not overly familiar with BBTS' policies but I've pre-ordered items there and cancelled with no penalty charged in the past.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
^ Thanks. Sent them an e-mail and got what looked like a cut/paste response from their FAQ. The only thing I learned was that the 15 day cancellation policy refers to items being held in the "Pile of Loot" feature. I wrote back and eventually got someone to answer my original questions: Yes, you can cancel a pre-order at any time before the item arrives in their warehouse and not be charged a penalty. You can only have your payment info removed from their system by contacting customer service. After the WBShop fiasco, I try to keep my card number stored on as few websites as possible -- but PayPal is only allowed for in-stock items and would certainly complicate matters with a pre-order anyway.
BBTS is one of the only toy/collectible e-tailers I've come across that don't require a deposit on the more expensive items and makes it easy to cancel before shipment without any headaches. I remember pre-ordering some Star Wars mini busts back in the day from Things From Another World. I ended up losing my job a couple months later and tried to cancel the order with them. They basically told me to screw off and said that they had already paid the distributer based on my pre-order and flat-out refused cancel anything. Entertainment Earth was better the one time I had to cancel something with them -- but they still asked for a written explanation concerning why I didn't want the item anymore. I thought that was unnecessary. |
Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Argh, okay, I ordered Maria Hill, since I doubt they make another one (but who knows?). I hope they make another Fury someday.
I didn't see Ant Man yet, but is that on track for a sequel or for him to be included in future Avengers movies? |
Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
I haven't seen it yet but:
Spoiler:
The Sandtrooper just went eligible for Sideshow's July coupon. Not sure if I want to order that or the Luke in Storm Trooper disguise first. I'll probably get them both eventually though. |

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Yeah I pick and choose the Marvel figures I want. I can't imagine being a die hard Marvel fan as there's just so many figures to choose from. Its pretty much impossible to try and get them all unless you have unlimited funds. I'm just picking up core Avengers or favorite characters.
Right now my focus is basically on Star Wars. Of all the stuff I have pre-ordered all but two figures (Batman Returns Batman and Wayne set and Temple of Doom Indiana Jones) are Star Wars items. |

https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...14&oe=561F61FC https://www.facebook.com/hottoys/pho...477344/?type=1 Recently Hot Toys has showcased an impressive 1/6th scale Millennium Falcon cockpit at San Diego Comic-Con which has already fascinated many Star Wars fans! But we are not stopping there yet, as a complete and highly detail 1/6th scale Millennium Falcon measuring close to 18 feet (5.5 meters) long by 12 feet (3.7 meters) wide will actually be making an appearance at ACGHK! Its sheer astonishing presence will surely captured any fans’ attention! |
Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
I saw that. Very cool but its only a one off deal for some Toy Fairs overseas I believe. There's no realistic way they could actually mass produce and sell that to normal consumers.

Anyone collect transformers? I was thinking of getting into it when I saw the new devastator. Man, this is what I wanted the most when I was a kid!

http://bruticus.net/wp-content/galle...08466132_o.jpg http://www.seibertron.com/toys/light...g-haul-087.jpg Save your money for the Takara version. It's better than the Hasbro and SDCC version of Devastator. It has G1 guns for the all the bots, better paint apps (and no vac metal to chip off), new elbow joints for some of the bots, and a Devastor head that has a visor that can be raised and lowered for whatever your desired look. Check the pics. http://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/u...2015/07/13.jpg http://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/u...2015/07/23.jpg http://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/u...2015/07/33.jpg http://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/u...2015/07/43.jpg Link to TFW2005 post: http://news.tfw2005.com/2015/07/08/n...astator-295975 NOTE: You have pics of two different Devestators. 1st pic (Of Devastator with Masterpiece Prime) is the Hasbro version. 2nd pic is the SDCC version (you can tell by the Purple vac metal on the figures) |
Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Oh I know. Those were just two pics I grabbed real quick. The Takara version sounds like the one I want. The CC exclusive is $300 at BBTS while the Takara is $219.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Well, the CC version is kind of a rip off, the regular retail price for Hasbro's Devastator is $149 or so, which makes you think twice about the increased price of the Takara. They are also redoing all of the G1 combiners (so far: Menasor, Defensor, Superion), though Devastator is much bigger than them. And if you really have the cash, there are a ton of third party options...

The 3rd Party scene for Transformers is amazing. Multiple companies making great products. Don't have to wait for Takara/Hasbro anymore but I do prefer the Takara versions of a character rather than the 3rd party. For instance Masterpiece Ultra Magnus was far better in my opinion that KFC Citizen Stack. Obvious exception is Masterpiece Megatron versus X-Transbots Apollyon. Although I don't have that figure in hand yet. Sitting in my pile-o-loot at BBTS. Personally I liked TFC Herecules take on Devastator since it integrated almost all of the combiner parts into the robots such as the treads becoming the forearms. I may not have been G1 accurate but still liked it. Most people prefered Maketoys Giant because it was much closer to G1. I have both so I can swap out based on my changing tastes. Let's see what Gravity Builder brings to the table for their devastator. |

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Leia is a day one pre-order for me. Also sort of want the Pepper/Mark IX set but I'll wait and see how much it costs. If it's too much I'll probably still get the single release of Pepper.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
Is Leia braless? ;)

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion
^ She comes with a tiny roll of gaffer's tape. ;)
