They don't look quite as good as the promo photos, but they are still quality sculpts. Looking forward to picking up Marilyn and Eddie this summer.

Finally got my Return of the Living Dead Tarman figure from Amok Time a couple weeks ago. Ordered their Elvira and Day of the Dead figures as well, but this guy is my favorite.

And on the NECA front, I finally have the figure I've been jonzing for since childhood sitting on my shelf:

What is the creature in the bottom picture from? I feel like I should know but I don't..

My Creature From The Black Lagoon from Diamond Select Toys just won't stay standing anymore (It did fine for a couple months). There are no back/hip/leg joints to adjust the balance with. This is frustrating me.

A figure like this is what support pegs were invented for. Unfortunately, Diamond Select didn't see the need to include them on the base. I've had this one displayed since January and the Creature has fallen just once. As you've mentioned, the articulation is quite limited -- the only leg joints are in the feet. I previously had the Gill-man looming over Kay a bit more, but ultimately had to adjust the foot joints so it stands straighter. This may not work in your case, as the joints in mine were already pretty tight. So far, it's been able to maintain this position without toppling over:
I had more problems with the Kay figure. It was completely lopsided and I had to do some significant bending to keep it in a position where an arm or leg wasn't raised up from the base. That entire figure is one solid piece (and fairly rigid), so it was quite difficult to straighten out.

Thanks for the response. I'll try what you did. My Kay figure is pretty straight so at least I've got that going for me haha. Funnily enough I asked Diamond Select on their FB page if they had any suggestions and they asked if my base still had the pegs... I haven't received a response stating that it never had pegs.

Finally got photos of my setup in my new house. I cut down on displaying a lot of figures so the shelves wouldn't be so cramped. Put up a lot of new stuff as well. Got more coming in the next few months too. Sadly this will be taken down as well when I build the movie room in a year, hopefully.

Here's the link to the album: http://s1264.photobucket.com/albums/...use/?start=all

You must have some house to have the room to display all of that. Awesome collection.

That's the Fertility Idol Bank. I got mine from BBTS. Here's the link but it's sold out:

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...89&mode=retail

I also have on order the prop replica version made by Sideshow. It's considerably more money but looks way better.

BBTS: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...78&mode=retail

Sideshow also sells it directly from their website but I always find it's cheaper on BBTS unless it's the exclusive version (which only Sideshow sells). Hope that helps.

That's an awesome collection man. Holy shit though I shudder to think how much the bill was for all that! I want to buy a few myself but have a hard time justifying paying $200ish for a figure..

Yup. It's the 1/6th stuff that kills it. Before they were around 100-200 depending on the company. Now they all usually start at 200 and go up from there. I'm not sure how much longer I will be collecting as the prices and demand just keep skyrocketing. I have to admit though, the quality of the figures at that price point is excellent. The sculpts alone make them worth it. So many people are floored by how realistic the figures are.

Most of my figures are keeping some of their value but not all. I think I could get maybe a 75 to 80% return if I sold them. It's funny that around 2008 I tried to buy an older figure and it went for 3 times its purchase price. My wife commented: What recession!!!!

I've got Batman(89), Joker(89), Spiderman (Black Costume), Noland (from Predators) and Jake Sullly (Avatar) coming in the next few months and I have the Avengers Hot Toys stuff on pre-order. Hopefully they put out a Hulk. My poor wallet.

Just got Flint in the mail, so now going to chill out for a while, until more Avengers come out. I spent about $1,300 total on these 8. Had to pay extra for Snake Eyes, since hes OOP.

So here's some high res pics:

I too must admit that collection is astounding. The only large scale figures I ever bothered to get were the Holy Grail characters from Sideshow. Even those few at the time cost me a pretty penny. They quality on the above figures is overall pretty amazing so I am sure they raised the price a ton.

Not exactly movie figures, but close enough. I just received my Play Arts Kai Arkham Asylum Batman and Joker figures!

Those Arkham figs are awesome. I think they're underrated. Collectors complain that it's too expensive at $50 - $60 but for the amount of detail, sculpt & paintjob it offers, it's worth the price.

I would open my figures up but I have no room to display them...

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion

Compared to $200+ for anything by Hot Toys, I thought $60 was a steal. I'll be adding Harley Quinn in a few months once she is released for sure.

Re: 1 and Only Movie Figures and Collectibles Discussion

This thread cost me $200+ bucks. After I saw a picture here of that Chris Reeve Superman figure, I had to have it. I have never bought anything like this before other than some cheap McFarlane toys on clearance from Suncoast many years ago.

So what's the best way to display these? I definitely plan to take it out of its box but of course I don't want it to get super dusty/dirty by sitting out all the time. Do people here just buy the normal glass shadow boxes you get a hobby or craft stores like Michaels?

I have all my statues in a case like that. I'll see about getting a pick of it if anyone wants to see what it looks like in use to get a better idea of how much it fits.
