Do you know when they are going to be released and how many they are making? I would really like to get the Maul but not sure when the pre-order is gonna start.

Negative opinion of the movie aside there's also obviously a market for the film's specific "Alien" design, especially since it was done by HR Giger himself.

I agree about Alien 3 not seeming as bad as it used to be. One of the cool things about this maquette is that it was created using castings from original molds from the film's sculptural and paint studies.

Sideshow Collectibles has a Flexpay program where they charge your credit card in 3 monthly installments. For Darkness, it's 3 payments of $116.66 starting in July.

There are also some reputable online retailers selling this item for $300 or less. Fireside Collectibles (who I've ordered from a number of times) has it for $297.50.

Do they do that for all of their stuff? I might be picking up the Darth Maul if that is the case.

They haven't announced how many they will be making, but they generally make 2,000 or less. This is slated for Q3 2007. Sideshow does hit their target dates occasionally, but they also have some shipping dates slip as well. You could always look into the Flexpay option or order from a dealer.

I would think these would be easy to find even after they are released.

You can go to www.sideshowtoy.com for more information, as well as more pictures. A word of caution though: you might see quite a few awesome items they have made. My DVD spending has dropped significantly since I found out about these guys. :)

Oops, I had the pricing for Lord of Darkness. Maul is $279.99 retail, so the Flexpay is $91.66 a month starting in June. He's $238 at Fireside Collectibles.

They started the Flexpay a couple years ago, but only on items that are $250 or more. It's an awesome way to get an expensive item because they don't charge you any fees to do the Flexpay unless you actually cancel your order.

Yea I am looking at it right now, just checking out their Flexpay items...WOW there is a lot of stuff I want. But I definitely think I am pre-ordering the Maul right now.

A little heads up to the people in Suffolk LI area. If you really want the Animal House 3D sculpture poster, the KB store at the Tanger outlets has a bunch for $15.

That boxset has been out for some time now. Not sure what the brick and mortar store availability is like these days, but Amazingtoyz.com still has them in stock.

I've seen several of them at the Suncoasts near me. It's a really cool set but I'm waiting for the price to drop.
