AARGH darn smalltown movie theatres

I live in michigan, in a college town, town about 25,000 people and the movie theatre isn't playing BloodRayne. I checked Lansing, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and Flint. Non of the theatres around are playing BloodRayne. What gives. The surrounding theatres still have "King I have a big Dong" playing on two screens and Harry Pot smoker. I am not going to travel to Detroit to watch this but is it not being distributed?

Um... it's playing in Essexville and Saginaw and I'm sure it is playing in Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Flint. Maybe try searching for times today now that the movie has opened

We have nine screens in our town and it's not playing here, although I could really care less. I'm just happy we got Munich and Hostel.

Our theater's sound, seating, and picture sucks so it doesn't matter what they play. A couple of years ago they got DTS and the sound system still sucks.

If you really want to see BloodRayne, you can probably just a few more weeks for it to come out on DVD.

My town is like that, we have a 12 theater for mainstream films and a 2 screen art-house and when our arthouse gets something like a Good Night and Good Luck and Pride and Prejudice, they usually hold on to it for so long that we get to miss a bunch of indies and I have to go to KC to see them. The 12 screen cinema actually didn't get Grandma's Boy or Bloodrayne, either but we end up getting a print of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN!!, Hostel, and Munich.

I think BloodRayne is the type of epic you need to see on the big screen. The kind of movie you can look back thirty-five years later and tell people, "I saw BloodRayne in its original theatrical run, before Boll went back and added all that special edition nonsense". Yes, the inevitable 4-disc Director's Cut DVD will be incredible, but it doesn't replace the magic of seeing a film of this scale with all the other hardcore BloodRayne fans.

I wish I did see House of the Dead in theaters. Oh wait, no I don't. I stopped watching it after 5 minutes on Showtime. Yeah, that was bad.

What? They're not playing a movie that features Meat Loaf? What are all of the Meat Loaf fans going to see this weekend?

Our city had three 12 screen multiplexes, along with a half-dozen other theaters and multiplexes, and Bloodrayne is only playing on one screen in the whole city. BoxOfficeMojo list the distribution as only 985 theaters, probably only one screen each, which is significantly less than Grandma's Boy and Hostel, which each are distributed to over 2,000 theaters.

I'm guessing the distributor is going for a much lower distribution than normal, expecting a flop. Although it's likely that theater owners didn't want to show the film either, given Owe Boll's track record (in box-office, not quality).

I did in this post:

I might've done the math wrong, since Kong is apparently 25 feet tall, not 20 ft, but he'd still have only a 7.5" inch "dong" at best.

I'm in Mt. Pleasant, home of the Soaring Eagle Casino. If its playing in Garnad Rapids, its not on any Jack Loakes Theatres.
