But after watching Martial Law 9/11 and Loose Change, I've got more questions than answers from all the information put out.

I think I'll pass on 9/11 films. I saw the Flight that fought back and I was covered with a cold sweat the whole time. I also felt and incredible amount of hate...something I don't like to feel.

My problem with this film is that I don't believe that it's needed right now. It's been less than 5 years and there is really NO ONE around that doesn't know the stories and have the feelings from 9/11. The only reason I can see making this film is to line someone's pockets, despite the links to various 9/11 charity funds at the website. The documentaries of 9/11 have been done -- to mount a fictional account (or non-fictional account with actors) of any of the various 9/11 stories right now is just too soon.
And dear Lord, please spare me in my lifetime the "Titanic-esque" tragic love story told with 9/11 as a backdrop -- it's coming people, don't doubt it for a minute!

I think its interesting to read everyone's reactions to the idea of the film and trailer. I guess if the families support the movie then I have no qualms with the movie being made, though I won't even watch the trailer to the thing.

Before checking out the trailer, I didn't think making the movie, even with the support of the families, was the best thing to be doing just out of it seeming like bad taste. But then after watching the trailer, that thought didn't even cross my mind. But I'll tell you what did cross my mind - pure anger for those behind the attacks that I had forgotten about over the last few years. And that's why I don't think it's a good idea to be making the movie at this time. I think it has the potential to stir up a lot of problems in that regard from a social standpoint. As far as the "War on Terrorism" is concerned, it's probably a good thing to get those emotions racing again, but I think there might be a fair amount of repercussions at home that really are unneeded right now.

I agree with the others who do not want to see the film. When I saw the trailer Flight 93 I had this eery feeling it was about 9-11 when I clicked on it the first time. As I watched it I kept telling myself I am not going to watch this movie. It is way to soon, I don't want to be reminded of how I felt on the days after that. I remember the first christmas after 9-11 opening up presents with the family that morning and thinking to myself there are kids today trying to do the same thing but because of a bunch of extremist assholes thier mom and dads are no longer there and it just tore right thru me. This is just way to soon.

That sort of bending of the facts would really be in poor taste and in a subject like this, you can never really be certain.

Ok, so now the movie is called United 93. And there's a new trailer out. WOW! This movie looks pretty god-awful. It's pretty much a straight-forward telling of the events. Absolutely nothing new to say or comment on. Pretty much a waste of Universal's money. It's also pretty hilarious that they're actually advertising the fact that he's the director of the craptacular Bourne Supremacy. At least Stone's movie looks to be a character driven story based around 9/11 rather than a paint by numbers telling of the event that happened less than 5 years ago! There's a new trailer at Apple.com, go check it out. It looks like a TV movie.

A&E's Flight 93 film cost around $2-3 million to make and went from pre-production to air within five months. I don't care what anyone says, it was a piece of shit television movie affair regardless of the subject at hand.
United 93 is costing around $10-15 million to make, with a majority of the budget going towards actually producing the movie (a rarity in Hollywood). A good chunk of the film's budget went to building a replica of the entire interior of the United 93 airplane. Regardless of what you say about how the film is being told, Greengrass and crew are staying true and faithful to how the events of the day played out. There's a lot of work going into getting everything right while trying to show the heroics of the people on the plane. In addition, Greengrass will actually come out with a more polished film (using mostly anamorphic handheld cameras) than the crap A&E served us.
And you think Paul Greengrass is a craptacular director? Come back here after you see Bloody Sunday.
I don't know if the final product will be good or not, we'll have to wait for next month to see.
And Universal is splitting the cost on the film with Working Title Films, just to get your facts somewhat straightened out.

Both movies, United 93 and World Trade Center, have legitimized the criminal acts of the USA govt. There's the movie! So it's gotta be true! You can't argue with 9/11, they made two hero-movies about the tragic day! It must be true!
Go watch LOOSE CHANGE. I'm not into conspiracy theories and I was a total USA patriot before watching this film. Michael Moore did not change my mind about USA - it was LOOSE CHANGE that made me think twice before believing everything that the innocent media and innocent govt. spoon feeds us.
Go watch LOOSE CHANGE or better yet, are there any patriotic DVDTALK reviewers in here that will review the DVD of this movie yet???

NEW YORK — A New York City movie theater has pulled the trailer for "United 93," which chronicles in real time the hijacked United Airlines flight that crashed into a Western Pennsylvania field on Sept. 11.
The AMC Loews Lincoln Square 12 theater in Manhattan said it made the decision after viewers complained they found it too upsetting.
"I don't think people are ready for this," theater manager Kevin Adjodha said.
"One lady was crying," Adjodha told Newsweek. "She was saying that we shouldn't have played the trailer. That this was wrong."
Universal Studios in Los Angeles, meanwhile, said it would go ahead with plans to show the trailer for the thriller, which is scheduled to open in theaters on April 28.
Adam Fogelson, Universal's president of marketing, said the trailer would be shown only before R-rated movies or "grown-up" PG-13 ones.
"The film is not sanitized or softened, it's an honest and real look" at the events of Flight 93, Fogelson told The New York Times in Tuesday editions. "If I sanitized the trailer beyond what's there, am I suggesting that the experience will be less real than what the movie itself is? We as a company feel comfortable that it is a responsible and fair way to show what's coming."
"United 93" is scheduled to make its world premiere on opening night at the Tribeca Film Festival in Manhattan.
The festival, which was created to help lower Manhattan recover economically from the attacks, begins April 25 and runs through May 7.
The trailer begins with images of passengers boarding the plane on a sunny morning, and builds to a disturbing scene that includes actual news video of a plane about to hit one of the World Trade Center towers. It then returns inside Flight 93 as terrorists begin hijacking it and a passenger calls his family to tell them of the impending disaster.
The Families of Flight 93 have said that Universal Pictures will donate 10 percent of the first three days' grosses to the memorial.

Anyway, I'm not suprised by the early response to United 93's trailer. I still haven't made up my mind about whether I'll catch it during its theatrical release or wait for the DVD. I found the trailer to be pretty jarring.

I can't believe the people in here touting those conspiracy movies. I really think that they should go talk to the mother's and father's and son's and daughter's of the people that died on that day. Oh that's right.. the government created those fictional people.

:::sigh:::
