Me and You and Everyone We Know

I noticed this being bought a lot during the DDD sale, and it sounded interesting enough to give it a shot. OnceI read Mr. Kleinman's gushing review, I was sold.

And boy, is he right. Think of the quirkiness of a Wes Anderson movie infused with extremely lewd sexual content and having the result be about as offensive as Napoleon Dynamite. Just thinking of it now made me pop it in.

What does everyone else think?

i didnt really care for it, most of the characters i didnt care about. It wasnt bad i watched the whole thing but something i would never watch again

it had one really good scene, when the girl and guy are walking down the street and they are pointing out "this is there forty year mark etc" that was a pretty good scene

It had a few good bits, but overall I didn't see what all the fuss was about. That said, I hate Wes Anderson movies and was pretty meh on Napoleon Dynamite, so there you go. I did prefer M&Y&EWK to any of those.

I thought Me, You, and Everyone We Know was just one of those pretenious "indie" films that shows unrealistic characters and that everyone in the world is an artist. Still better than Junebug, though. ** out of *****.

Extremely overrated film. (And unlike Chris above, I prefer "Junebug".) While "You and Me. . ." had some good scenes, I could not get beyond the very stalker-like actions of the main character.

It reminded me of a more optimistic version of "Happiness." Though I have to confess I really disliked both movies.

I thought it was pretty good, and look forward to seeing more from the director. While I didn't buy the movie, I did put it on a wish list for Christmas and did get it for Christmas.

I thought we already had a thread on this...

I searched in Movie Talk and didn't find one.

Because of the name, you had to search on the director's name "Miranda July" to find the earlier thread on the film.

It's a very polarizing film, some will hate it, some will love it. I thought the lead female character was a little too stalkerish, and just a little too artsy-fartsy at times. The payoff for little boy's online fun was almost worth watching the film, though.
