Italian Cop Flicks...where to start?

I've been reading a lot about 1970's Italian cop movies lately...namely, Violent Professionals, Violent Naples, and one other that I can't recall...but they're not on DVD yet (here, anyway).

What other good Italian cop movies are out there? Perferrably something that I could score on Netflix...

Revolver. Nice little film with two excellent performances. Blue Underground issued a beautiful DVD and I'm sure it's available on Netflix.

Revolver came to my mind as well -- highly recommended.

Tarantino, maybe take a look at some of the films available in R1 via No Shame Films (noshamefilms.com).

Revolver is good, as the others have said. Skip the exalted High Crime, as it's far too convoluted and turgid.
Offhand, the best Italian cop flick I have seen is Confessions of a Police Captain with Martin Balsam and Franco Nero.

I can recommend La Polizia chiede aiuto. Great score, nice exploitation and a lot of .

The German DVD is very good and features an English dub.

^Good film; incredible score by Cipriani. It's more of a Giallo, though, than a straight cop movie.

This is more of a comedy, and really about detectives, but this is one of my all-time needed-on-DVD movies:

If you're getting Revolver, you may as well grab the 2 pack with Contraband. Crazy ass movie.

The Big Racket is another awesome one you should check out.

I just got Super Fuzz and Almost Human in the mail from Netflix today, I'll watch one tonight. Great suggestions, guys. Keep them coming!

I added Contraband to my list, but didn't see The Big Racket available in R1.

Didn't know Revolver came in a two pack with Contraband; only with Grand Slam. Contraband is bad, however. There are a few good action scenes and a few awesome gore scenes (especially the famous burning), but it's ultimately not worth it. Grand Slam is a LOT better. It's not a cop film, but an Italian (actually more of a international production headed by Italians) heist film.

Oops my bad. Contraband comes with Conquest, not Revolver. I think Big Racket is getting an R1 release by Blue Underground later in the year.

I actually have the Revolver/Grand Slam pack. I hated Grand Slam, but Revolver was pretty good. Grand Slam was just too slow.

Well, I watched Almost Human today. I didn't like it as much as people said I would.

Oh well.

I'm going to watch Super Fuzz tomorrow.
