Favorite Horror/Comedy/Spoof ????

I am just curious of everyone's opinion of their favorite horror/comedy/Spoof of today and the past...I haven't seen any (or too many) polls like this and was curious of everyone's opinion...I know who the obvious winner will probably be but let's take a stab at it (no pun intended)...By the way,my favorite probably will not be the obvious winner....

Evil Dead? Maybe part 2, but part 1?

I went with Shaun...Zombies=good.

intothevoid2004 12-31-05 05:07 PM

Maybe the first Evil Dead was a reach.... But it had some (a little) comedy...

RevKarl 12-31-05 05:16 PM

Unfortunately, you didn't include "Other..." in your poll, but my "write-in" vote would have been for Little Shop of Horrors (1986), with honorable mentions to The Raven (1963) and The Addams Family & The Munsters television series.

STUDENT BODIES, of course. It was the first slasher spoof and deserves extra credit just for that. May not be the greatest film ever, but it's still a lot funnier than any of those awful Wayans brother attempts at horror-spoofing.

You missed a few that could have been on the poll as well - WACKO and PANDEMONIUM ("Thursday the 12th") come to mind.

Best Horror Comedy: Shaun of the Dead

Best Horror Spoof: Scary Movie 3.5

National Lampoon's Class Reunion

George T 12-31-05 06:28 PM

Young Frankenstein

The best from my perspective is the Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre (#2 on the adult list). It borrows from virtually every horror movie, and spoof for that matter, in the last twenty years. ;)

I've seriously thought about getting this. I've read your review (and a couple others). Sounds like a solid release. I've only bought 1 porn DVD (it was at a signing) so it's not too often I'll make the jump.

that's because they are in the movie forum. :nopanic:

Happy New Year!!

scarredgod 12-31-05 07:20 PM

return of the living dead just barely over shaun of the dead. both awesome though.

darkside 12-31-05 09:20 PM

Young Frankenstein hands down. There is really no reason for a poll that doesn't include that film.

shacmasta 12-31-05 09:32 PM

I went with scary movie one.

Rockmjd23 01-01-06 05:41 AM

I would also put Repossessed on the list.

Doc Moonlight 01-01-06 07:28 AM

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN definitely belongs on the list. I would also add the original LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and Polanski's FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS

zombiezilla 01-01-06 05:55 PM

Yeah, I voted for "Shaun", but could've went with "ROTLD" or either "Evil Dead" (1 or 2). Or "Young Frankenstein", or even "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein".

Mountain Biker 01-01-06 07:07 PM

Student Bodies, easily

Mr. Cinema 01-01-06 07:22 PM

Young Frankenstein

Sunday Morning 01-01-06 08:10 PM

"Wacko" blows them all away.

BSpielbauer 01-01-06 08:16 PM

Young Frankenstein.

Most of the others on your list are not even in the same league.

And, to leave out so many other obvious choices seems a bit misguided. My vote for second would have been "Little Shop of Horrors." The only one on your poll which would have made a "top five" list might have been "Shaun of the Dead."

Bizarre.

Young Frankenstein

Cellar Door 01-01-06 08:55 PM

Why no "Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness" on the list? That would have been my vote.

Ginwen 01-01-06 09:01 PM

I went with Shaun of the Dead, but could've gone with ED2 or Young Frankenstein (if only it was on there).

The first Evil Dead is I think not a spoof.

Disc-Flipper 01-01-06 10:52 PM

Hysterical!

Starring the Hudson Brothers (who knows where are they now?)
It spoofed Friday the 13th, The Fog, The Exorcist, Poltergeist, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters and possibly other 70's & 80's horror films.
