Assuming you're a straight male, this seems like it could be homophobic behavior on your part.
This is a serious question and I'm not trying to start a fight... just honestly wondering.

That is the silliest thing I have heard about the film (from someone who hasn't seen it). It is a lot of things but it is not preachy like an After School special.

Anyone who has seen various episodes of "Six Feet Under", or "Will and Grace" has already seen more gay content than is on screen in this film.
One sex scene (full clothed and brief) and a couple of kissing scenes. Big deal. If anyone is *that* freaked out by these quick scenes then I suspect they may have deeper issues.
Plus, Anne Hathaway is topless! The straight sex scenes in this film are more explicit than the gay ones.

so you noticed that one of the straight sex scenes was on all fours.. good observation. That's what it was suppose to be as a sign that she was taking it up on the pooper as Heath seemed frustrated and projecting his bum loving out on her.
On the other hand the Hathaway scene was a back seat her on top.. Hey, odd how she's a cowgirl.
Oh those Hathaway boobies. good stuff.
I agree with you completely though that this was far from an after school special. It had to be one of the best films I've ever seen. As a straight male I feel in love with the story.

Just because I like watching guys make out doesn't make me gay...wait..what? I haven't seen it yet but when I do I plan to take multiple heterosexual males with me and I don't expect them to even consider skipping it because of any homosexual content.

With that said, my 73 year old Catholic mother has expressed an interest in seeing it and I didn't discourage it, in fact, I think she'll like it. If there had been anything in the film that was "oh, mom doesn't need to see this", I would have probably discouraged her going, but I think that a person going to see the movie for the story and the cinematography (why the hell wasn't this at least 2.35:1???) and the characters and NOT for the gay sex will find it to be an honest, heartbreaking film that I really don't see as a romance necessarily. I have to assume that "Brokeback" has a double meaning in this film and it's not the meaning some want to snicker about, but that the situation and the very fabric of these four people's lives is ripped apart over the course of the story -- EXCELLENT drama. Don't miss this movie!

As a fomer Vice officer I recommend "CRUISING" with Al Pacino.
If someone wants to observe a more realistic lifestyles of gay life than "Brokebreak Mountain ".This controversial, gritty thriller features a great performance by Al Pacino as a cop undercover in New York's gay S & M underground to find a serial killer. As he infiltrates the scene, it's like he is on another planet, and he slowly comes loose from the moorings of his own reality. There is one amazing moment, on a rare, brief visit home to his wife (Karen Allen), when Pacino rolls over in bed and looks at her with blank, dead eyes which reveal more than ten minutes of dialogue ever could. A gripping examination of a man who becomes an alien in his own world, Cruising is far more than the tawdry thriller one might expect, and it deserves another look "
