I agree with most of the sentiments here. The first hour didn't move the story along very much, aside from the introduction of characters. It took too long to get to the interesting parts, and once it was there, it was a bit disappointing, especially for being touted as based on a true story. I was hoping for something more realistic and a less indestructible killer.

I saw this movie last night in NYC. I thought it was alright, worth watching in my opinion. It was nothing special though, it seems like an australian hitcher and texas chainsaw massacre in a blender. I give it a 6/10

Just saw it yesterday and was sorry I wasted my time. Like all the previous posts there is no action until into a good hour of the film. Then it's a rehash of everything that has ever come before it, Texas Chainsaw, etc. it even reminded me a bit of Wrong Turn, which I liked believe it or not. Anyway, this is way overhyped!

I think it's worth a dollar. Unforfunately I paid $9.25.

It's actually not the worst slasher movie I've ever seen. While the story was beyond terrible, the one thing that this movie had that most other slasher films don't have was "good acting". Ebert never mentioned the acting in his review. I mean... it's rare to see acting like this in a cheap slasher film. Shouldn't that be noteworthy? Am I wrong in saying that these were quality actors? I particularly enjoyed the Keira Knightley Look-Alike chick. Keira's clone is a better actress than Keira herself, which isn't saying much.

Ebert gave this movie zero stars. I give it 2 stars. I enjoyed this movie more than I enjoyed Syriana. Which, again, isn't saying much. But I'll probably never see it again.

I don't know, even though it wasn't perfect, I enjoyed the time leading up to the "action." Although some time should have been cut, I thought it built the tension up nicely. It was when things got going that I kind of lost interest. The killer was just too campy for what he was supposed to be, aka, a real guy. That kind of put a damper on the last part of the movie for me. Suddenly, it seemed less real and hence was far less scary to me. Still, it was effective in parts, so I am going with a C+ for now. I have seen much worse - just this month actually.

Wow, I'm really surprised by the negative remarks on this flick. This is easily and I mean easily one of the best horror flicks in a very long time.

Just when I was about to give up on the torture horror scene......a co-worker mentioned I should check out Wolf Creek. Glad I did and loved every second of it.

It lost points in my book for having a few too many instances of the character doing something so stupid that you want to punch something with the hopes that the character will feel it, fucking shape up and stop taking pit stops to watch a video camera during what most would deem a "get the fuck out of there" situation.

And yeah, that was a run-on sentence. Big whoop wanna fight about it?

Just watched this. It was okay, but I agree with others in that the set-up was way too long.
