Your favorite 80s movie

Ah the 80s, i consider this decade to be an "overspill decade" in that much of its success is continued over from the previous decade of great ideas, innovations, and energy, overspill decades have their strength largely, or mostly during their first halve in this case 1980-1984, continuing the "70s cinematic energy." The second overspill decade would be 60s (cin'energy ending '64.)
So what is your favorite movie of the 80s? For me it is Mad Max 2 (1981); immense kinetic energy, such a cool premise, and that medieval-style look for non-medi films called 'pop-pageantry' by the film's director is iconic.

Back to the Future.

In the U.S., Mad Max 2 was titled just "The Road Warrior" when it came out.

Impossible for me to pick, though it would be close between: The Thing, Aliens, Lucas and The Goonies.

It's close between Blue Velvet and Brazil, but since I have to pick just one, Blue Velvet it is.

What is it about the singular term "movie" that's escaping some people?

Since I'm a big fan of 80's movies, this had to be taken from a big list of my favorites. After process of elimination, it turns out my favorite 80's movie, based on total entertainment value, is:

"The Hunt for Red October"
("Roxanne" came in at an extremely close 2nd, "Three O'Clock High" in 3rd)
