Why isn't Tom Poston in more movies?

The guy is a comedic genius and one of the truly great character actors around. I can't understand why filmmakers keep casting people like Christopher Walken or Eugene Levy in movies instead of someone such as Tom Poston, who is a much better actor. Personally, I thought he was brilliant in "Christmas with the Kranks" and "Krippendorf's Tribe."

Yes, he's a funny guy, but maybe he's not in a lot of movies because he's 84 years old.

Then why hasn't he been in more movies in the past?

He's probably busy with his new wife, Suzanne Pleshette.

I think the bigger question at stake here is who the fuck saw Krippendorf's Tribe?

Hey, sometimes it takes some for people in Hollywood to notice an actor's talent. I'm sure 10 years from now, Tom Poston will be on everyone's lips in Hollywood.

He was fantastic on that short-lived show "Committed" as the ex-clown who lived in the closet.

Holy crap. I just checked out imdb.com to see who he was and he really is 84 years old. He's the guy from Newhart (not Bob and not Larry, Darryl, or Darryl).

I thought you were kidding, or making some vague Newhart reference, but I looked on IMDB, and he really is married to Suzanne Pleshette.

Maybe he doesn't want the work and is enjoying retirement.
