"Man on Fire" Question
In "Man on Fire" why does Denzell (Creasy) go with the kidnappers at the end? He has "The Voice's" brother and The Voice has Pita.. Why not exchange straight up??
I've watched this movie about 5 times and never understand why he goes with them.. |
I believe it was an honor thing.
|
I assumed he needed to trade himself for Pita to keep them from going after her again; that was the only way he could be sure that he had done his job.
|
An honor thing?? For who's honor??
The only thing I thought (but then thought again and it didn't make sense) was that he knew he was going to die from his gunshot wound.. But then I thought he should have had his last momments with Pita.. |
He was there to sweeten the deal. They want the man who caused so much damage. Do you think they would have honestly let him or pita and her mother walk away with a trade straight up?
You forget that these are mexican drug lords, they don't do things that are "fair" |
He was sacrificing himself like a hero in mythology. Pita redemed him if you will.

In the alternate ending,

I thought both endings were good.....yep you need the 2 dvd set to see it though.
|
I still don't think any of the above are valid explanations...
@JackSkeleton.. "Do you think they would have honestly let him or pita and her mother walk away with a trade straight up?" Yes, I think they would have let them walk away.. Creasy freaking took down their entire organization from the ground up BY HIMSELF.. |
