Most gratuitous movie of all time is?

Is there top ten like database out there for most gratuitous non porn movie of all time? I posted this around trying to see if my choice of Prospero Book can be beaten besides general curiousity of what others there might be. Anything released outside of adult industry that is.

Mondo Kane 12-10-05 11:49 AM

Pink Flamingos? Caligula?

whynotsmile 12-10-05 12:43 PM

9 songs was the most pornographic non porno film ive ever seen

RichC2 12-10-05 12:43 PM

Whats that movie with all naked serial killers?

Giles 12-10-05 01:09 PM

I recall some sleezy movie called Love Camp (something, something) that was just an excuse to showcase soft core sex., very light on the plot.

I guess by "gratuitous" you mean sexually gratuitous (gratuitous on its own means excessive). I would say Ken Park or In the Realm of the Senses (which I haven't seen), and maybe even Salo, although it only has wall-to-wall nudity; its sex scenes are tame and simulated (ie. no erections, blowjobs, fingering women).

DieselsDen 12-10-05 10:38 PM

BULLY

If only because the main characters were high school students, and the camerawork and direction felt sleazy.

Eric D. 12-10-05 10:59 PM

Irreversible.

lotsofdvds 12-10-05 11:38 PM

The Whole Nine Yards.

The Nature Boy 12-11-05 11:45 AM

It will be "A Million Little Pieces" once that is adapted.

Rockmjd23 12-11-05 11:46 AM

Probably Caligula.

Anatomy Of Hell

Cancer Man 12-11-05 10:26 PM

Very Bad Things.

First there was the frantic sex with the Asian hooker.

Then there were the bodies (including the said Asian hooker).

And there was the body disposal involving gardening implements...

:chainsaw:

It was all a bit too much...

 :jawdrop: :yack:

By any means possible, avoid Ken Park.

my thoughts exactly. if DieselsDen thinks the simulated sex with high school characters in BULLY was too sleazy, the non-simulated sex scenes with high school characters in KEN PARK is definitely going to be too much.

Even though it is not really dirty, especially by today's standards, Barbarella would probably need to be on this list.

I don't know. While Baise Moi has more violence (whereas 9 Songs really didn't have any), 9 Songs has a more frequent occurance of sex as the run time is shorter than that of Baise Moi. Oddly, both 9 Songs and Baise Moi have very short running times (both are under/around 75 minutes).

If we're taking into account both violence and sex, Boise Moi has this contest down in spades. Just sex, 9 Songs is more of a winner.

Now violence-only on the other hand...

I don't think there's such a thing as gratuitous violence or sex in movies. I get what people mean when they say that, but I think they're usually missing the point.

While that film features numerous hardcore sex scenes, I would hesitate to call it "gratuitous". It seemed to me that the explicit sex was important to the storyline. But then again, that's just my opinion.

I would agree with CALIGULA though, both in terms of sex and violence. Hell, producer Bob Guccione went behind director Tinto Brass' back and added even more sleazy scenes to the film.

Battlefield Earth

Rockmjd23 12-12-05 04:56 PM

Chronicles of Narnia. Gratuitous use of Christianity references.
