Best Movie Mistakes w/Pictures...

This is weird. I don't really understand how the words "best" and "mistake" can be in the same sentence.

Even odds say that everyone knows what's rated #1.

Cool to see with pictures. Some of those "Top 30" really aren't that special. I did like the Pirates of the Carribean one though.

And that Wizard of Oz one just looked like the ruby slippers without the lights making them sparkle. Didn't really think it was a mistake.

Continuity mistakes are way lame. Why does the list have so many of those? I bet you could fill several thousand volumes worth of film continuity mistakes.

Robert 12-08-05 09:52 PM

Many of the mistakes noted on that site are simply the result of the film negative being flipped and not actual goofs.

Brain Stew 12-08-05 10:36 PM

A lot of those are continuity errors and as RyoHazuki said are very boring. The only interesting one to me was the Star Wars one and pretty much everyone already knows about it.

Yup, lame list. Though I noticed the Commando "yellow Porche error" and it bugged the shit out of me.

Commando could have 100 continuity errors (heck it probably does) and it would still be completely redeemed by "Let off some steam, Bennet!"

not to mention the absolutely classic exchange of dialogue when he fights with Cook at the motel room.

Isn't there a good one in Gettysburg right before pickett's charge a very modern white van is moving across the horizon. It's been years since I've seen it so I'm not sure.

They mention the Ruby Slippers one on the commentary of the new Wizard of OZ DVD. She's wearing patent leather shoes.

I like the spiderman one. With Kirsten's wet nipples on camera, who's looking at the shattered windows for continuity?

Michael Corvin 12-15-05 09:46 AM

Sci-fi heavy list. The Jurassic Park computer one is lame. Where is the mention of the velociraptor being born with the disappearing arm? I do like the one about the T-Rex paddock. That has always bothered me. I mean how could something huge like that, slip by so many people?

One of my faves is the Back to the Future odometer one. When Marty is racing through the mall parking lot from the terrorists, they show the dash 3-4 times to show his speed. The odometer shows something like 30,000 miles, the next time they show it, 3,500, and the third, back up to 30,000+. Obviously reflecting the usage of the car and having to go back and do pickup shots. Hell the 3,500 one could be from when they shot Stoltz in the role.

valkyrie 12-15-05 10:38 AM

One of the most obvious ones I ever saw on first watch was in "Twister." As Bill and Helen are driving the pickup near the end chasing the final tornado, the front window gets smashed and then a second later, drives on with a brand new, intact window. It was a rather obvious one...

No love for Sean Connery in the Untouchables? Or Robert Pastorelli in Eraser?

There were shattered windows in that scene?

Trout 12-15-05 02:55 PM

Didn't a kid in glory have a digital watch on?

atari2600 12-15-05 04:15 PM

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone? is that a mistake too?

atari2600 12-15-05 04:19 PM

i do agree many are lame but how do some of these mistakes get through editing and numerous people on the set? dont you think ONE person would notice that people are in the wrong position or someone is on screen that shouldnt be?

No, that's the name of the book and the movie everywhere else but in the US.

atari2600 12-15-05 06:15 PM

oh. had no idea...whyd they change it for us?

Cameron 12-15-05 06:22 PM

because were idiots and don't get it

GoldenJCJ 12-15-05 07:20 PM

yeah who wants to see a long boring movie about a philosopher? I, as well as all other Americans, want to see a great magical movie about Sorcerers.

No mention of my favorite. In North by Northwest a child extra has his fingers pluging his ears before the gun goes off, even though he's not looking at the action.

The Jurassic Park one was done on purpose. Spielberg knew about it and still wanted Grant and the girl hanging over the edge. They get spun around so many times in that scene it's hardly noticeable.

The Back to the Future one is very interesting. I always pay attention to the speedometer and never check out the odometer.
