Kong is slightly ahead in domestic gross, but overall gross it earned close to double.
It beat Batman Begins (both domestic and international), which is the title I was comparing it to as far as tracking its totals back in December. BB's budget was of course not as high, but it was up there. $150 mil + whatever ads cost.
Looks like it will end up being the #5 grosser of 2005. Not bad, considering what's ahead of it (Star Wars, Potter, Narnia, War of the Worlds).
