Okay . . .

Why do people like horror? It's a broad genre and people vary, so there are probably tons of reasons. Not to play armchair psychiatrist or anything, but I notice that for me, the time when I was most into horror was when I was pretty repressed. Maybe it was a release of bad feelings, fear, and anger. Or maybe not and I'm just full of shit. I like the "fear without consequences" theory--that seems pretty likely.
