Glad to see In The Mix bombed. Too bad Jarhead has dropped out of the top 10.

That number for Derailed is wrong. Should be .7M, and not 6.9M

How did Jarhead go from #5 on Tuesday, to out of the top 10 completely on Wedensday? And that Derailed # can't be right....I wonder if this list is a little mixed up.

Five movies released yesterday caused the Jarhead drop.

I'm surprised Jarhead has had consecutively large drops. I loved the movie.

Awesome for Harry Potter though.

...and I can't wait to see Walk the Line and Pride & Prejudice this weekend.

Very true, and also because (as a side effect of all the openers) Jarhead dropped from 2,413 screens to 1,686 on Wednesday.

I was hoping for a bigger return for Just Friends...oh well they'll get my money this weekend when I go to see it.

Are the lights still on at the Warner Bros studios? I doubt they'll be able to pay the electric bill next month with Harry Potter continuing to tank.

Wow, Rent took a 50% hit from it's transition from Wednesday-to-Thursday. That's not good at all. I know films that open on Wednesday do have Thursday drops, but damn.

I think Rent had a little bit of front loading from fans of the musical.

I don't think so. I know tons of people who love the musical, but all of us have been too lazy to go out and see it --or-- have been trying to play catch up with other films that have been released to theaters.

I'm seeing it tomorrow with a few friends as I opted to see Jarhead instead on Wednesday night. And what a mistake that was.

Well, it's a real shame when the family-less folks who have nothing else to do on thanksgiving day are either waiting in line at the local shelter or just passed out on whatever hooch they can get their hands on instead of going to the theatre.

It's thanksgiving. I didn't think it was a very popular day to spend it in a dark room instead of with family and friends and a warm meal that doesn't have melted butter topped on it.

Well when you figure that most everything went up on Thurs, Rent's drop should raise some eyebrows. Front loaded, or just a bust of a flick? Of course it's not exactly the normal holiday-fare that most would care to see, or so I've heard.

I never expected Rent to be a breakout hit along the lines of Chicago. Less starpower, a less commerical premise, and its subject matter might not play well to certain audiences. Still, that's a big day-to-day dive considering its relatively impressive Wednesday numbers. And adult-aimed movies usually make a slight *increase* on Thanksgiving over the Wednesday before.

wow. I guess it really was a large front load on RENT. You think folks forgot about it in all the gluttony of food?

Well, the reviews that weren't kind to RENT were more harsh than usual (that kind of venom should've been saved for YOURS, MINE & OURS), and it scared some people I know away from it...

I loved the film, and I hope it has some legs on it.
