I also saw the original first full cut of All the Pretty Horses with Billy Bob Thornton in the theater. That was a long ass 4 hours.

From Dusk to Dawn workprint was popular back in tape trading days. I think Phantasm workprint was another and quite a few others

On a much less prestigious level... I've see the extended cut of Jersey Girl, which is a much better film than what was released to theaters. The theatrical cut chops out most of the Jennifer Lopez footage... which is most of the opening act. Other scenes here and there are different in tone and content; some for the better, others for the worse (I thought it was bad that Ollie's supposed to be so good at selling an idea, but the scene where he does so is a montage to music; the actual speech, in the extended cut, isn't that great) While I was largely indifferent to the theatrical cut, the extended version was a meaningful tearjerker that could have become a favourite.

I used to own a vhs of the Goonies with the deleted scenes included in the film. I think we taped it off Disney or HBO when I was a kid. I remember telling kids at school about the squid and no one believed me. I felt so vindicated when that dvd came out.

In 1995, I got to meet Martin Scorsese and watch the director's cut of Casino at the National Theater Owners Association convention, ShowEast, in Atlantic City. Also saw Mr. Holland’s Opus, The American President, and Rumble in the Bronx months early, and interviewed Ron Howard and Rob Reiner, and met Richard Dreyfus.

I have the festival print of "Black Dynamite", featuring some alt/ext scenes.
Also have a copy of the "workprint" of Zombie's "Halloween", which is the best cut of that film. All the gore, none of that ridiculous rape scene, better ending. Zombie apparently doesn't consider this a workprint and acted confused when people brought it up.

I don't think it's "rare" per se, but there's no physical release of the TV-extended Babes in Toyland from 1986 (featuring Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves!). The digital/physical release is the much shorter 94 minute theatrical cut instead of the whopping 140 minute TV cut. There are a bunch of songs missing, including this gem that I distinctly remember from watching my taped-off-TV VHS version in my youth.

I still miss seeing the ABC cut of Caddyshack. I haven't seen it since nor have I found any of the scenes added in that television edit in any extras.

I love the Tv cut of Caddyshack as well. Over the years I have found the deleted scenes on YouTube.

I was just watching this video last week and early in it Bill Simmons mentions that Showtime (IMDB says HBO) back in he 90s ran it with multiple deleted scenes. I did a little digging and it seems they may have been on youtube a few years ago but were all taken down. Does this full version exist anywhere out there?

I saw an early cut of All Dogs Go To Heaven while on a press junket for another flick. It had a longer segment of the dogs in Hell that was amazing. When I saw a local advance screening maybe 6 months to a year later I was surprised to see that segment was MIA. I was told they were worried it was too intense for children. It was, but it was the best part of the movie.
