And then, surprise! Mad Max becomes a sequel to Schindler's List.

I hope they don't do another stupid thing like have Gibson in it,but not be Max. But another character like they did with that pilot and kid from THUNDER DOME. The pilot played another part in ROAD WARRIOR.
I know this is done in the Bond and Dirty Harry movies and I don't like it.

May 15, 2015 ... why in hell did they bother having a booth for this at SDCC this past year!?

2015? Wow, they wrapped principal photography about 1 year ago.

Getting released in theaters 3 years after filming seems like a ridiculously long time.

Probably trying to find a distributor, I can't imagine editing and FX took this long.

Didn't they shoot two movies back-to-back? That'd result in a longer than normal post-production period.

Re: Mad Max Fury Road

I'm still iffy on that bit. That's what it was started as but that was all the news we got on it. Just the one time.

I know this is getting a PC and there is some CGI in there. But the PC and and a 2 movie post work with some cgi could take some time. But for 2015? I dunno.

Distribution is WB. I can't think of anything aside from some damn fine post work.

Hrmmmmm. From what I am also finding is that this is an interquel. Set between MM1 and MM2. Also had or is having reshoots this month.

Went over budget to the extent that an exec had to come to location. And also Nambia is accusing the production of destroying the location as well.

Mad Max without Mel as Max is like Bourne without Matt Damon or The Punisher without Thomas Jane.....it's just not the same.

Ehhhhhh. It's been enough time that not having Gibson is ok. Plus...Hardy is a great actor.

I think it was a joke since Matt Damon is not the first actor to portray Jason Bourne and Thomas Jane is not the first actor to portray the Punisher.

If Miller can make action sequences half as exciting as the ones in The Road Warrior, then I'm not all that concerned and Gibson. But that's a mighty hard movie to top.

At least they won't have the excuse of not having enough time to complete post production. They have more than two years to finish up.

Bond went fine without Sean Connery and so did Superman without Chris Reeve or George Reeves.

Re: Mad Max Fury Road

Why is it taking so flipping long to get this movie released? My guess is they got a real stinker and are trying to polish it best they can .

Re: Mad Max Fury Road

That has to be it. I saw a clip (playing over and over) at SDCC this year and I assumed it would be released by now or early 2014

I know that they're not the first actors to play those parts but they're the ones I associate with those parts. Whatever else doesn't matter to me.
