I would certainly have gone with In the Mouth of Madness instead of Starman, as it is easily one of Carpenter's best. Halloween is the obvious choice though, and the correct one.

I'm tempted to go with either Halloween or The Thing, or perhaps Assault. I might end up going with Assault because The Thing and Halloween will dominate this poll. The results will most likely be The Thing in first, Halloween in second, everything else way behind.

Then again, maybe things will be different this time around...

i voted for halloween but the thing is a close second. i love 90% of his films anyways so this was tough.

I'm going with the one I enjoy the most: Big Trouble In Little China.

Is it the "best" of his stuff? Probably not, but it's the best to me.

Close runners-up for me would be The Thing and They Live.
