I just came back from viewing the Movie in 3D and love it.

I have seen films in 3D before at IMAX but they were documentaries not movies like Chicken little or Sharkboy, ect..

They gave us our own glasses not like IMAX. IMAX only let you borrow what they have and ask for them again on the way out.

I wish there were more movies in 3D planned in the future.

Gorge Lucas is working on Star Wars in 3D and I think they are going to look great. Imagine The Matrix in 3D

I didn't see this film in 3D, but I might. I did see in conventional 2D and found it to be a lot of fun, and I loved the quick bits of humor in small bursts, plus Chicken Little is just so darn cute, and inventive. Its running time was just about right, not too long, not too short (even if its running time was around 80 minutes).

I give it 3 stars or a grade of B.

I loved it!! if this what disney is gonna churn out in their "3D phase" i def. dont mind...
The comedy was very random and quick, lots of great pop culture refrences, colorful characters, and had tons of "disney magic"...The soundtrack was excellent aswell. Cant wait for the dvd!

big props to disney for the neato green chicken little 3d glasses...nice souvenior.
The 3d was very nice, good depth of space.

all around great film...loved it!

This is the same sort of 3D that was used in Captain EO and other Disney 3D shows they had at Walt Disney World?

ah!... Muppets in 3D - all I remember from that was that my friend slept through it.

Gonna see 'Chicken Little 3D' again tomorrow night with two other friends.

The next digital 3-D movie will be MONSTER HOUSE in July 2006, and there are several more in the works. A couple more IMAX 3-D full length features will be out next year too.

The digital 3-D projection used for CHICKEN LITTLE was very impressive; the image was breathtaking in clarity, color and brightness. This technology is a tremendous step forward and if they can do this kind of quaility in wide release soon, I have no doubt digital projection (and 3-D) will have a great impact. It was far clearer and brighter than oridnary 35mm movies I've seen at the same place.

There was not a hint of eyestrain; and the glasses were very comfortable and you forget you even have them on.

If I had one slight complaint, it would be that the depth was more limited than most stereoscopic films (kind of the modern equivalent of DIAL M FOR MURDER), and I'd like to see future films be a bit "deeper" than this, but it was still amazing and realistic and far better than 2-D 35mm.

If Lucas can make STAR WARS look like this, I'd see it ten times.

Again, this is just the first of many projects which will be available in Digital 3-D versions.

I noted this in the Weekend Numbers thread - but it's kind of interesting to note that the ticket price for the 3D engagement are actually a dollar more. Not a negative comment, but interesting in that I wonder where that dollar is going - Disney, Dolby, for the keepsake glasses.

Steve Phillips 11-07-05 10:43 AM

They've got to pay for those projectors somehow!

darkside 11-08-05 06:41 AM

Went and watched this in 3D with my whole family and the 3D was excellent. It is so nice that someone is bringing back quality 3D to the cinema. I can only hope that now that Disney is bringing it back and Dolby is also bringing out a quality digital projector that maybe some of the older 3D movies of the 50's can be converted for this and shown again in theaters using this process. I would really like to see films like Creature and Dial M for Murder get limited 3D engagements around the country.

Glad Disney will bring out a movie or two a year to use 3D.

Giles 11-08-05 08:44 AM

actually, Monster House is coming from Columbia/TriStar (Sony/Amblin)

and 20th Century Fox will be definately be releasing James Cameron's Battle Angel and the retinkered 3D Star Wars Trilogy in 2007 - I just hope 2006 brings it share of good quality 3D films.

Steve Phillips 11-08-05 09:50 AM

I think the next one from Disney is MEET THE ROBINSONS in late 2006, but as noted above there are other family 3-D features (both Digital and IMAX) coming before then, including MONSTER HOUSE, THE ANT BULLY, and HAPPY FEET.

mdc3000 11-08-05 06:45 PM

The 3D was great and I am officially excited about the prospect of other movies in the format (KONG!) but thought Chicken Little was just alright... certainly no Pixar...and sadly, probably not even as good as most Dreamworks/PDI pics...but better than Fox/Blue Sky...

Saw this today. My impressions:

3-D quality - Excellent. Best 3-D I have seen in years...probably ever.

Animation - Very good.

Story/Movie itself - Horrible. Very dull film with little to no laughs and a very weak storyline. See it for the 3-D only.

given it's source, well yeah, the story is slight. Runt of the Litter was the only character and aspect of the film that I personally thought was funny. While not great, it was certainly much better than the overrated dull as a doornail 'Shark Tales'.

3dmoviebuff 11-17-05 02:11 AM

I think animation and CGI EFX movies like "King Kong" will always be presented in 3D
as well as some flat prints. Just as the cell phone and the internet are with us for
the forseeable future, 3D is with us for digital based movies of all types. I know a
lot of people spout off about "goofy" glasses, but that is really a transfer from the poorly shot and projected movies of the past in 3D. Robert Rodriguez should be figuratively "horse wipped" by 3D fans for his garbage "Shark Boy & Lava Girl " movie that could have killed 3D, without the appearance of "Chicken Little" to save the 3D day. Rodriguez actually had to filter out most of the color to get his garbage glasses to work. If you rent either of his films, get some good plastic glasses which pass much better color than the paper crap he foisted off on an unsuspecting public. Actually
the anaglyph method can look quite good with plastic glasses and an HD
video signal. Likely all animation films that have done better than 125 mil
at the box office , are likely to be re-rendered to 3d for the home market.
Converting for HD DVD release only cost a couple of hundred thousand
to process vrs. $5 million + for a theatrical conversion.

Just saw this last night and thought the 3d effect was great. I'm not an expert but I'm not a stranger to 3d either. I thought it was on par with 3d amusement park features but liked how it was more integrated and didn't have any glaring "hey look what we can do in 3D", kind of moments. I like the depth of field in this presentation. It isn't as deep as in the amusement parks but lends itself more to the story and isn't as tiring. I like how we can keep the glasses too and how it has to do with the story.

My showing at Downtown Disney Orlando didn't charge more then regular admission BTW.

The movie itself was cute but many of the jokes just landed flat. The characters weren't that lovable either. Chicken Little was the only decent and memorable one of the bunch. Definately none of the emotional connection as with the pixar films, or even Shrek (whose pop culture worked better for me, at least for now).
