Freddy vs Jason Vs Michael and F13th Remake
#27
I'd love to see Michael Bay's production crew remake the Friday the 13th film. I loved their remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That was Rated R with plenty of gore and made $107 million on a $30 million budget.

Freddy vs. Jason was terrible, IMO. 40 minutes of Nightmare on Elm Street, 40 minutes of Friday the 13th, and about 20 minutes of actual Freddy vs. Jason

Is this even possible as a film? I thought the Michael Myers rights are tied up with Disney/Miramax at the moment, or did Harvey Weinstein get to take Michael with him when he departed? I remembered Disney toying around with the idea of Michael vs. Pinhead about two years ago after FvJ hit big.
If they are trying to do another team-up, I'd prefer someone who wasn't so much like Jason. Why not the previously mentioned Ash, or perhaps Chucky, who could trade one-liners with Freddy?

The first Nightmare on Elm Street movie is sort of a classic. The first Friday the 13th movie was honestly already pretty disposable. The first halloween was great.
After a zillion sequels, there's nothing left worth doing with any of these properties. But these aren't horror franchises anymore. They're running jokes. "Freddy vs. Jason" got a box office boost on the nostalgia factor, but the nostalgia kick is a one-off.

And it would suck unless Sam Raimi directed it.
