Just watched "To Kill A Mockingbird"!

Shamefully, I had never watched "To Kill A Mockingbird" in it's entirety. I wish I had because what a phenomenal movie. I've read the book, and have seen bit's and pieces of the film. I just can't say enough about the experience. Peck may have given the best performance I've seen out of him, and Brock Peters also did a great job as Tom. But what really made me laugh was seeing Duvall as Boo.

Is this out on DVD and if so, how is it?

I posted this because even though I've seen many old classic films, there are so many more I haven't seen. I've got to get on the stick. Perhaps I'm missing out from not having seen these other films.

By the way, this post isn't really meant to be about the DVD. Just wanted to give my opinion of the film.

It's been on DVD for years, but lucky for you Warner Bros. just released a new two-disc SE a couple of weeks ago, and it's fantastic.

Atticus was voted the greatest film hero of all time, by AFI, I think. This is one of the essential DVD's for a collection.

If I had to choose one movie that every person should have seen in their youth, when they are still developing their character and morality, it would be this one. I think I am a better person because I saw this movie quite a few times in my childhood.

This is one of those few classic movies I'm embaressed to say I've never seen.

Ben-Hur, Gone With the Wind and Dr. Strangelove amongst others.

 I remember my father watching this movie with my two sisters when we were all very young. This movie/story has definately shaped me as a person.

D'oh! You're right, and I knew netter. I always think of the original release of "To Kill a Mockingbird" (among others) when I reminisce about how Universal used to put out the best SE's and then inexplicably fell apart.
