name me a movie where the maid/nanny is NOT named Maria!

I just paused the movie Crash because I wante'd to talk about the stereotypical maid/nanny named Maria. Hell, my nanny was named Maria when I was little, but how come every maid/nanny is named Maria in movies???

In fact, during the devil's rejects as soon as the maid came on screen i said pretty loudly to my friend "20 bucks says her name is Maria". As soon as the cop said that her name was "maria so and so" all the people sitting around me who heard me say it chuckled.

Can you name any movies where the latina maid/nanny is not named maria???

maid to order (1987) with Ally Sheedy playing the character Jessie Montgomery in the title role. There is a Latina maid however, and her name WAS Maria.

Father of the Bride had a Latina Maid whose name I think was Oliva or Marta

The Goonies had a housekeeper/maid named Rosalita

I think your point would have been proved better if you asked to name maids who WERE named Maria. Because obviously there are exceptions.

Apperantly, we all have that trait . . .

Okay . . . to answer the real question, Flor Moreno (Paz Vega) from Spanglish.

Edit: In our defense, though, that's not what the thread title says . . .

It's not just a matter of not reading the first post: the subject line itself asks a different question. There's nothing illegitimate about responding to the question asked in the subject line.

Another TV show with a non-Maria is "Arrested Development," in which the Hispanic maid was named Lupe.
