Anyone heard about the new horror movie, Chaos?

I was just on Ebert's site and he wrote a scathing review for the movie giving it 0 stars. Apparently the filmmakers tried to defend themselves and wrote him a reply. Very interesting stuff. This is supposed to be the "most grusome" horror movie of all time or something like that. It's directed by a WWE wrestler, and the homepage is http://www.onlyamovie.com. From what I've been reading it's pretty disturbing. The problem I have with these type of movies is that they are bloody for the sake of being bloody. Pushing the extremes in order to shock. I'm afraid some idiot out there (there are plenty) will watch it and take away with them only the worst parts. Wonder why we are getting such a huge resurgence of "grindhouse" flicks.

I read this a few days ago-- he really tore them apart. Even though I haven't seen the movie, I can guess that I would agree with him %100. This sounds like exploitative garbage, no one should walk into the theater without knowing what it really is.

Interesting read, thanks Mike.

I'm a gorehound and have no problem with gore for gores-sake. But at least try to be a little creative. There's no reason to go to the trouble of making a movie and then doing a cookie-cutter remake of LHOTL. Did they think people weren't gonna notice?

Ebert really tore the movie apart in his ZERO star review, but the filmmakers open letter was completely pathetic. Real filmmakers can take criticism in stride....even Uwe Boll doesn't take out major newspaper ads when Ebert (rightfully) demolished his movies.

Supposedly just a huge ripoff of Last House on the Left.

Well, that pretty much ruined any hope that I would check it out.

David DeFalco is a WWE wrestler? It also stars Kelly Preston's ex-husband Kevin Gage and Sage Stallone

I read Ebert's review of this last week, along with the follow-up reply. Interesting stuff and makes me want to go see this even more.

Ebert's definitely not alone in his criticism of the film, I guess:

The Asian movie 'Chaos' was great....wouldn't entertain a remake though.

This "Chaos" was a pretty good flick. Last I heard, this one was getting a Hollywood remake (with Robert DeNiro).
