Young actress disappears from her home

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0174021/

She starred in the film "Sleepover" as the character of Farrah, and she also plays Jared Padelcki's younger sister on "Gilmore Girls". Anyway, she dissapeared from her home on Friday, August 12th. This is a message that her mother posted on another message board:

-------------------------------------------
First of all, let us just say that we are overwhelmed with the response from the acting community concerning Scout's disappearance. So many people have offered to help in any way that they can, and it's truly appreciated.

At this time all we can say is that the authorities are investigating the issue. The classification of Endangered Runaway was given to get her into the system immediately. As soon as they have all of the information needed, the classification will be upgraded.

Those of you who know Scout, who know our family, know deep in your hearts what to believe. It saddens us that such horrible rumors could be generated and spread at a time like this.

I can tell you, that this is the hardest thing we have ever been through. As a friend stated to me this morning...the worst thing in the entire world must be not having your child around. Unfortunately we can tell you first hand that this is true. Hug your children.

If anyone has any information regarding Scout, please call the National Center for Missing Children at 1-800-THE-LOST, or the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department at 760-245-4211.

Family can be reached at: [email protected]

hope all come out well.

i had two thoughts, though.

1. She may be tired of her parents pushing her one way or another and just took off. 16 year old kids do this. Even those who have things going for them.

2. This is a good publicity set up. Take a young actress that has been on screen enough to merit a story, yet hasn't really made it to the big time yet. Hide her away for a few days and see if the press will run with it. Return her safely and claim emotional stress. All of the sudden you could become a household name.

either way hope she turns up safe and sound.

I would sure hope that people attempting a publicity stunt wouldn't involve the Center for Missing and Exploited Children in their ruse.

I, too, hope the situation is resolved in a happy manner.

She may go by the alias name Scout Taylor-Compton
If the family is also supplying her alias, it sounds like she's a runaway rather than a kidnapping victim.

That's the acting name she goes by.

I don't know...why would a sucessful 16 year old actress with money just disappear from her home...she knows she could just emancipate herself to leave home and not involve the center for missing children. Seems like something bad might have gone down.

That is sad.

On a different note, did anyone else think she really looks like Nicole Kidman?

Didn't really think so. Though, now that you mention it, she has a very slight resemblance to Nicole Kidman in the left photo. But, as I said, it's very slight.

They're probably just happen to be the latest pictures they have. Afterall, doesn't the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children require only the absolute latest pictures available? I know it seems odd that the pictures are obviously professionally done but, given that she is a new actress, those headshots may have been taken just days prior to her disappearance.

People don't like faked kidnappings/disappearances. When Audrey Seiler vanished from Madison, she went from the nation's sweet heart to a punchline in the matter of a couple days before she was buried in other, more deserving headlines

she ran away and will be back soon i'm sure.

i like how her "model" pics are used for the missing photo. whenever i get those missing kids ads in the mail now i am going to be judging their grainy photos harshly.

Well, if this person went missing

it could read:

Missing: Michael Douglas, aka Michael Keaton

how many actors/actresses do you think actually use their real name?

and for the record, this girl doesn't look like nicole kidman. she is actually nicole kidman when she was 16. :P

Not sure who that is, but I wish the "runaway bride" would disappear into yesterday's news. I don't need to turn on the TV to see how she is spending her parole.
