Actress Natasha Lyonne fights for life.

From Msnbc:

Drugs. Disease. It's a true Hollywood tragedy.

She rose to stardom in “American Pie,” but now actress Natasha Lyonne is fighting for her life.

The New York Post broke the story that the missing actress had been found. Natasha, 26, is struggling to survive in New York City's Beth Israel Hospital intensive care.

Reportedly, Natasha is suffering from hepatitis C, a heart infection, a collapsed lung and is covered in track marks.

She's also undergoing methadone treatment — typically used to help heroin users.

Natasha, who has also appeared in “Slums of Beverly Hills,” “Detroit Rock City” and “Kate and Leopold,” was arrested for drunk driving in 2001, but it was about two years later when her friend Michael Rappaport — who rented Natasha an apartment in his New York Brownstone — started receiving complaints about his tenant.

Natasha allegedly terrorized the neighbors and destroyed the property. Michael told his scathing story about evicting his friend to Jane magazine for their May issue.

“Natasha, who I used to think was so cool, had s--t on me and my property…I tried to help her, a lot of friends did,” Rappaport told Jane. “But she screwed me. She can kiss my a--.”

The Post reports Natasha had been living on the streets since her eviction. But her dad argues she owns her own co-op.

I never liked her as an actor, but it always sucks when you hear that people actually do shit like this to themselves. Hopefully she'll recover.

Frankly, she always looked emaciated and strung out..

Guess that's what happens when you ride the horse..

I first noticed her in Comic Book Villians, in which she played the wife of Michael Rappaport. I can't say she made an impression on me in anything else she had been in. Not too great of an actress, but she's clearly got some cries for help going on here. Doesn't she have family that can stage an intervention?

Does she have a publicist? If so, I'm surprised that we aren't getting the old "suffering from exhaustion and dehydration" story.

I hope she pulls through. I've always liked her and just the other day I was wondering what she was up too.

Weird... when I was reading this last night, one of her quirkier movies was on cable. No wonder she wore long gloves:

I liked her in Slums of Beverly Hills.

It's sad, but I can't say I feel sorry for her.
I'm tired of hearing about these people who take their good fortune and throw it all away because of stupidity.

I'd rather feel sorry for those who bust their ass 40+ hours a week making little money with little chance of improving their situation.

And she looked kind of fat in that movie. Not exactly the mark of a heroin addict.

Hep C is NO laughing matter... my heart goes out to her. Given her heroin addiction (alleged, who knows...) its probably no surprise that she's suffering from it. I hope she really pulls through, but in this life you reap what you sow.

She sure did.

Still, my favorite image of her was from "Slums". Big boobs, short skirt, and platforms.
