Disaster Movies
My wife likes disaster / doomsday movies like "Asteroid", "Independance Day" etc. Whats your favorite? Whats your recommendation?

House of the Dead.
|
Airplane for laughs, but otherwise, Poseidon Adventure.
|
Here's what you need, the "Terminal Pack":
This program contains the complete AIRPORT disaster-film series. Films include: AIRPORT, AIRPORT 1975, AIRPORT '77, and THE CONCORDE: AIRPORT '79… http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/redir...fier=MCA024229 As for my favorites, besides one of the Airport movies (can't remember which one) I liked the Towering Inferno, Poseiden Adventure, and some of the recent round of disaster movies (like Independence Day, Armageddon, etc). |
Battlefield Earth
|
Day after tommorow
watch the last half hour of deep impact |
Earthquake
The Towering Inferno |
Poseidon (The original) Since there are 2 remakes coming out
Towering Inferno. |
Here are some of my faves in no particular order for disaster/doomsday movies:
War of the Worlds (Cruise) The Core Twister Towering Inferno Armagaddon Dawn of the Dead remake Land of the Dead 28 Days Later On the Beach The Time Machine |
War of the Worlds
28 Days Later 12 Monkeys Titanic All very well made in my opinion - and great directors too... (Spielberg, Boyle, Gilliam and Cameron) |
the guy who mentioned Battlefield Earth owes me a new polo shirt, because I snorted up diet coke all over mine :)

You wife might enjoy Last Night...indie Canadian film about the end of the world. But if she's looking for cool special effects and loads of people dying, you're out of luck ;)
In this movie the world simply ends without any resistance, or "Acts of God" Good flick though. |
stealth...wait
|
Dante's Peak is good... so is Volcano... your wife likes seeing stuff get all blown up and ripped to pieces huh? That's so cool... :)
|
Would Dr. Strangelove count?
