Batman and Robin

Just watched this and the blood won't stop flowing from my eyes. This movie took crap to a new level of crap. The story was bad, the actting was bad, the set was bad. The batmobile was stupid. There wasn't a freaking roof.

The best thing about it was Ivy but that only went so far. Damn I wish someone didn't remind me this movie ever came out. Oh yeah and batgirl sucked also and not in the good way. And how come her suit didn't have nipples? Batman had nipples on his suit.

Whoever made this movie should be killed. If I ever catch the person breaking into my car I'm going to force them to watch this movie twice.

cactusoly 07-19-05 07:41 PM

Old news, but I completely agree. I thought Alfred was the only good thing about this.
By the way Joel Shumacher made it with a producers credit going to Tim Burton.

Giantrobo 07-19-05 07:46 PM

As far as I'm concerned anything before "begins" didn't happen. :p

With that said, I liked both Ivy and Mr Freeze. I though Thurman and Ahnuld did a great job with the characters. Especially Ivy.

devilshalo 07-19-05 07:58 PM

Ah-nuld better have done a great job, he got $25 million for 2 weeks work.

bballing 07-19-05 08:14 PM

Boy you just wasted your time. You would have been better off taking those 2 hours and watching paint dry.

Rypro 525 07-19-05 08:20 PM

what got you the urge to watch this horrible bat nipple movie.

Maxflier 07-19-05 10:22 PM

You should have known from having hung around on these forums that it sucked......HARD.

Giantrobo 07-19-05 11:14 PM

oh..and that Shoooomaker fucked up Bane too. True...Bane is a huge monster Bastard when he's on the juice, but he's not a mindless grunting gorilla like the one in the movie.

JesseCuster 07-20-05 01:26 AM

When a series of rapid zooms of fetishized costume parts becomes one of the centerpieces of a superhero film, it *is* time to blow it all up and start over.

Fincher Fan 07-20-05 06:06 AM

What film did you guys see? Batman & Robin is the best superhero movie ever made.

Michael Corvin 07-20-05 07:24 AM

Surprised no one has mentioned usually the biggest gripe about it, Clooney. Personally, of all the flaws in the film, he wasn't one of them. I liked him, the problem was that he was only in about 12 minutes of the movie since there were aoround 15 main characters. He was definitely better than Kilmer in that other turd Batman movie.

RockStrongo 07-20-05 09:44 AM

Yes, Joel Sh|tmaker should be run out of hollywood for that one.

"I felt I disappointed a lot of older fans by being too conscious of the family aspect.... Now, I owe the hardcore fans the Batman movie they would love me to give them." - Joel in 1997

I was talking with someone at work about batman begins and the conversation went to old batman movies. I was like Mr. Freeze I don't remember Freeze in any batman movie. Somehow I had miss this movie but I can see why now. So I decided to queue it up in my netflix list.

Ah, you're either in for 2 hours of pain, or 2 hours of laughter. For me, it ranks pretty high on the unintentional comedy scale.

See I'm surprised that more people don't feel this way. It's SO campy and SO over the top and SO heavy on the homosexual innuendo that I can't help but find the movie enjoyable. It's no begins and it's not the Batman I love, but the movie is made and done now. My mourning time is over (I was heartbroken when I went to go see it at the theatre) and now I can enjoy the movie for the steaming pile of shite that it is in a MST3k kind of way.

rennervision 07-20-05 01:05 PM

Maybe I should fear for my life after expressing this opinion, but here goes...

I honestly didn't hate this movie as much as the rest of the world. I agree Clooney is a terrible Batman, including Batgirl was a ridiculous idea, and the actual title was one movie too late (ummm... wasn't Robin introduced in the previous one?). However, the movie just seems like the same outlandish, over-the-top, plotless Batman film they had been making since day one. I never really thought the first Batman (with Keaton/Nicholson) was the classic everyone made it out to be for the same reasons, but it was decent popcorn entertainment. After seeing three other movies, I pretty much knew what I was getting into with Batman and Robin so I can't say I was all that disappointed with the costumes, dialogue, plot, etc., etc.

reverie 07-20-05 01:14 PM

I kind of looked at it as an updated/modern version of the TV show.. that way it's not so bad. (but yeah, still very very bad)

Doc Mardan 07-20-05 01:37 PM

Any movie in which a character whose gimmik is Ice utters lines like "you're not sending me to the cooler!" deserves to be in the all cheese category.

SINGLE104 07-20-05 01:40 PM

The only good element about this movie was the digital sound... nothing else.

raven56706 07-20-05 02:33 PM

the only thing good about this movie was that i got some after the movie....

More popcorn? :hscratch:

I also tend to regard it along the lines of the old tv series. It was fun and campy for what it was. But after the first two, it is obviously a let down.

Legolas 07-20-05 10:50 PM

It was basically a big budget version of the TV show... which is maybe why Adam West liked it so much.

What's sad is that Schumacher is capable of making a dark and serious Batman movie.

Dark_Sithlord 07-20-05 11:11 PM

I saw Batman and Robin when it came out, and not since, even though I have it on DVD as part of the Legacy set. I remember it being really excruciating to watch. I think Clooney was a really bad Batman, and everyone was just running around vying for screen time. Who knows, maybe if I ever get around to watching it again, I may even like it if I'm in the right frame of mind.

Cameron 07-21-05 12:02 AM

two words...shit sandwich

Myster X 07-21-05 12:09 AM

Schumacher ought to be shot. :D
