Looks really good. Fun premise.

"What's your super power?"
"I melt." *splash*

I have a feeling I'm going to be grinning a lot during this movie. Cheesy? Yes. Fun? Absolutely.

For the ultimate in camp and cheeze, they should have Adam West in this, in keeping with the homage to old heroes theme. Throw Burt Ward in there while they're at it. And the guy who played The Green Hornet. Or is he dead?

The theatrical trailer makes it look good...the promos they are running on TV make it look cheesy and lame.

They wanted to do an homage to her Wonder Woman role by giving her Gold Bracelets but Warner/DC said no.
I'd settle for her in a red and blue corset.

I'll go see it mainly for the cast. The sfx look ok. For some reason the look of this film reminds me of Rodriguez's kid stuff (ie- Spy Kids, Sharkboy/Lavagirl). Maybe just because it's kids in a super-heroic setting.

and yes, Kelly Preston is still a babe.

The bus looks like another homage to heroes, the heroes from the Old Negro Space Program.

Something has to be, cause all I've seen are the TV commercials and it looks like something I'd rather gouge my own eyes out than watch. I'm honestly shocked at the good buzz here. The TV ads make it look derivative, formulaic, cheesy (in a bad way) amongst other negative attributes.

The part in the TV ad that really gets me is when one of the students does something or other bad, and the guy with the really big head goes "I'll call the nurse." The delivery of that line just screams to me "we'll shoot a funny line that'll look good in the trailers, with a funny looking character and it'll be great, something will blow up and the funny looking guy will say 'I'll get the nurse! Derp-da-derp-da-derp!' "

I swear, that one little bit cause me a little bit of physical pain everytime I see it.

If the rest of you are optimistic, I'll try to keep an open mind though.

No, that's pretty much the movie.

Such great potential, wasted with cliched high school antics...

Count me among those who is just a little bit excited about seeing this one. It won't be mind blowing, but it sure looks like it will be fun.

I agree. I was wondering if everyone here had seen different previews than I have, and apparently they have because I never saw the full trailer just those horrible TV spots.

Running 69% on the tomatometer.

Looks like Ebert gave it 0 stars (or whatever "No star rating" means).

I think that means he hasn't reviewed it.

I took my 7 year old to this today, and we both enjoyed it a lot. You can see the plot twists coming a mile away, but it was pretty funny.

a warning...

..if you like Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, and the Might Morphin Power Rangers, you will love this movie.

Everyone else, you'll want to kill yourself by the time it ends.

You have been warned.
