Whats your favorite Lethal Weapon movie of the series, and why. (Haters welcome too)
Ok lets here it, whats your favorite Lethal Weapon film of the series.
My favorite is LW2. Why? Well I really liked the character developement in this installment. We really learned a lot about Riggs and Murtaugh and watched there partnership form, and the big kicker is that we learn about what happened to Riggs wife.
I really liked the "bad guys" in this series as well, the diplomats were a nice change from the normal drug dealers or terrorists, I really liked that angle they took with them.
I liked the Joe Peschi character as well, he was fun and wasn't too over the top, not like in LW3&4, and I also like that they kept more of the serious tone of the movie that carried over from LW1. It wasn't all serious like LW1 there was a little more comedy, but I liked the more serious tone to these movies.
Plus the end was great, better ending IMO that any other of the LW series.
Theres more, but I will keep it short, I am not a master reviewer, but these are some elements that I like.
Ok lets have it.

First for me. I think the characters were well developed from the start and Riggs is at his most suicidal in this movie.
I still think Riggs should have died at the end of LW2 when he gets all shot up.

2 all the way. From the fade out of the movie title to the fade in of the police siren it's just non-stop action. The toilet bomb, Leo, the car chase, the stilt house and the finale. Add to that a naked Patsy Kensit and there's really not really any reason not to like it.

Loved one. Loved two. Three got really 'thin' and silly. Four didn't even seem like a Leathal Weapon movie! It was pretty fun, though.
"Why Can't We Be Friends" playing over production stills? WHAT THE FUCK? Did anyone tell Donner that they hired Jet Li, NOT Jackie Chan?
After two, the "family" aspect stopped working. That's exactly when the movies stopped working. They were really straining for story.

The first two are pretty comparable, IMO. They both had good action, humor, and drama. They also weren't afraid to get dark. The third one was some weird comedy revue and all the darkness and drama of the first two simply melted away. It's good for some laughs and has some good action here and there, but it's definitely a couple of steps down from the first two. The fourth one is just like the third one, if not a little more stupid, but I it had better action so it's okay.

The first one was great. The second one was even better, although a little over the top. The last two were awful.
One of the biggest cheers I've ever heard by a theater audience was in LW2:

I think 2 is the most entertaining of the bunch, although I liked all of them, to be honest with you...I think 4 is the weakest one of the lot, though...the Benny/Dentist Chair scene makes me wince it's so god-awful.
3's not getting enough credit here...the opening bomb sequence, Murtaugh
Spoiler:
I think 4 is bad for two reasons...it was a rushed production and they basically made up the story while shooting it. I think Donner started shooting in February for a summer release...that's just CRAZY!

I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked 4 the best. Don't get me wrong, I like the others as well, but I thought Jet Li was great in his role. Not to mention the whole cell phone scene between Rock and Pesci.
