Which version of WAR OF THE WORLDS was better?

Now that the movie has opened which version did you like better?

Earth vs. the Flying Saucers should've been included in the poll too (ID4 was actually more of a remake of it instead of WotW).

If Tom Cruise had a pipe and was a scientist, strutted around and comtemplated things a lot the movie would have been better.

I can't vote on this one. Each version was great at it's time.

I'm thinking the movie will look better on dvd.
It seemed to lack color in the movie theater.
Where as the 1950's one with it's technicolor on laserdisc looks so beautiful.

Spaced Invaders should be included since the Aliens hear the original radio broadcast and decide to join in and invade earth ;)

Or The Night That Panicked America? That was a decent movie. :)

MARS ATTACKS!, SPACED INVADERS were like comedies weren't they?

Man, could you image the panic during the radio show? I was never there but I'd have to go with that version just on how many people thought it was real.
