Ok, ok, who should play the Joker?

A few off the wall, but interesting choices for the next Joker:
Come on - you know that "grin" of his is PURE EVIL!
There's few roles this guy couldn't handle...and he's make a great nemesis for Bale's Batman.

As far as personality, he could be humorous, but not over the top. Dry humor that counteracts his over the top style/look.
Just my interpretation.

I'm trying to see him in the role and he would definately meet the "creepy" quotient in the way that you have described him. I have'nt seen enough of him to assess his acting chops though. He was outstanding in The Pianist but abysmal in The Village. Other than those two films I've not seen him in anything. Have you seen him elsewhere?
Johnny depp has both the "Creep" and the "Cool" going for him though. I think I've seen everything he's done and can easily see him taking this role even beyond its "Nicholsonian" heights.

Coincidence? I think not.

If you proclaim to have first made the suggestion, why not start a new thread about it?

I just thought of someone who would make a GREAT Joker...Adrian Brody!!!

Brody would be good, especially if they went with his origin being similar to the one in The Killing Joke ( I was kind of hoping for a red hood cameo in this one).
Cillian Murphy could have done a good job, but he is already Scarecrow.

Whoever they do choose, Nolan & Company will have plenty of great existing stories to choose from. I hope they take a cue from Batman: TAS and try to adapt one or more of the great Joker stories from the comics.

Hopefully, if they choose a big name actor, the role still is smaller than Batman.
IMO, they shouldn't choose a big name. Plus, I hate Leo
and the whole Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes thing will just be too weird. While watching it, I was already thinking he was going to pop out and start debating Dr. Chase about the effectiveness of psychiatry.

I totally agree. Why would you want some dumb actor like Leonardo Di Caprio or Adrian Brody. They should just find some unknow actor to fill the role. Plus, I hate actors.
