Will Batman Begins be cropped from 2:35:1 for IMAX version?

The only theater in PA that's showing this in IMAX is only 15 minutes away & I was thinking about checking it out. I've never been to an IMAX movie, but I know the screen is only 1:66:1 or 1:78:1. I know the IMAX version of Apollo 13 on the newest dvd version is cropped & am guessing they'll probably do that to Batman as well. If that's the case, I'll skip the IMAX. Couldn't they just show it properly & cover the top & bottom of the screen, or would that make the screen not as impressive?

from my understanding , it'll be presented in proper aspect ratio.

Matrix Revolutions was shown in 2.35, so I'm sure Batman will be the same...even with the aspect preserved, the images are huge and have striking clarity...I'm definitely going to catch Batman in IMAX when I get a chance.

As of now, all Warner titles presented in IMAX have been all shown in their OAR.

Thanks. I hope you're right. I wouldn't want to see a P&S version, even if it is huge. I wish WB would keep that integrity for HD as well. I've avoided the Matrixes & others that were cropped to 1:78:1 for HBO HD.

No IMAX in the DC area that is showing this, so I'm kind of pissed. Oh, well. Can't wait anyway.

I've never seen a regular flick in IMAX, but I have my tickets for Batman on Wednesday evening. Here's hoping its an experience (at twice the price, I hope so!)

will it be edited? i heard many films to be shown on imax have to be trimmed for time because imax reels can only store 2 hours or something like that...

No. IMAX can play films up to 150 minutes in length now.

That used to be the case, but it was changed sometime between the SW:Ep II release (edited) and The Matrix Reloaded release (not edited).

I don't want those 30-foot high black bars covering up the movie!

I am going tonight at 10. The IMAX running time is listed at 141 minutes, the same as the normal theaters.
