Fight scenes look pretty good. Some of the casting from the original film seems better (like Shang Tsung), while some in this new film are better (like Scorpion)
The original Mortal Kombat movie is my favorite video game-based movie. The "Sub Zero and Scorpion entrance scene" is badass.

That looks great! I love the original movie but I'm all for a gorier version that's more in line with the ridiculous nature of the game.

It’s kind of weird how this movie just snuck out of nowhere. I mean I heard rumblings of it, but never really saw much from it at all until the teaser images yesterday and the trailer today. I expected it to look like some crappy direct to video movie or something, but it actually looks pretty damn fun.

Looks fun! Some of the exposition from Sonya and Jax was pretty awful, though. I also think having Cole Young for the audience to be lead by is weak, with all of these fucking characters?
The gore looks cool. Oh, and Kano also looks like a tool.
"That's a birthmark, he was born with it." No shit. That would be a birthmark.

Looks nice, but I have to admit the soundtrack of the original is what really made that one work for me. I've listened to that soundtrack for years, though I haven't watched the original in forever.

The CGI on Goro looks like it's from the 90's.
I'm a long time fan since playing the arcade and then console games as a kid, so I'll see this, but my expectations are low.

Holy shit.. Im excited now. Will it be movie of the year... I thought it, but the little shown makes me super happy. I hope the fights are long and show case each one's individual skills. Sub-Zero was my main since day 1 and I like how he was shown in the trailer.

That looks really good. Like an actual story albeit darker vision. But they made it like they actually cared about building the world we know from games and expand and make it interesting. Loved seeing Goro. I was afraid no Goro, which would have been sacrilegious. That was Scorpion, the older guy who has been in stuff, and hand that chain grapple, right?
Will happily see on HM.

Even though I grew up in the Nintendo/Sega/PlayStation age, I never really played any of the games. I knew of them and got my ass kicked for the 5 minutes I played at a friends houses, but I never spent more than a few minutes with them. I also never bothered with any of the previous movies. Those “Fight to the death tournament” martial arts movies never really appealed to me.
That said, this new movie actually looks like a lot of fun. The Subzero stuff looked pretty badass.

The SNES was my first system and Mortal Kombat was the first game I ever finished.

I’ve told this story before but I grew up in a mid-size town in Iowa that had an MK machine in the mall arcade. I went to Vegas for a week with my parents and they gave me and my brother $20 each in the morning and at night and turned us loose in the Circus Circus arcade. I played against some of the best MK players around. Got my butt kicked but I learned a lot. When I got back home, I tore it up against the kids there. They didn’t know what hit them. I’ll always have a soft spot for that game and like I said, the original movie is a guilty pleasure so I’m really looking forward to this one.

So, what happened in Vegas was unleashed on your town. I'm looking forward to seeing this. I hope there are more characters that they haven't revealed yet. I would like to see Baraka and Kotal Kahn. Maybe even Reptile.
