That movie had the most jiggly camera work I have EVER seen. It was headache / eye strain material at its best and I could not even get through the film because of this. I can understand jiggly camera direction during action scenes. But Bourne ID had jiggly camera work practically throughout every scene. I sure hope Mr. & Mrs. Smith (which looks great) won't have the same silly camera work.

Was there something wrong with the other threads about Mr. & Mrs. Smith already started?

Bourne Identity camera work was fine. Could easily follow the action without getting nauseated. Directed by Doug Liman

Bourne Supremacy had the headache inducing shaky "feel-like-you're-part-of-the-action" :rolleyes: cam. directed by Paul Greengrass

and the director of Mr. and Mrs. Smith? Doug Liman.

As HN has so correctly pointed out, you've got your directors mixed up.

Well said. Liman also directed "Go"...one of my favorite films.

I think people exaggerate this when talking about Bourne Supremacy. There was only one scene in which I thought the camera was too shaky (the fight scene with Bourne and the other ex-Treadstone agent). Everything else was just fine. I actually *loved* the realistic feel during the final car chase. So count me as one who didn't mind the "silly camera work" at all.

Yup, great flick. Having Liman as the director of Mr & Mrs Smith makes me want to see it even more. :)

No, people are right.

I still have no clue as to what happened at that end of the Bourne Supremacy as I had to sit somewhat close to the screen and the editing just made the ending seem like a blurry mess from where I was sitting.

To reiterate, Doug Liman did NOT direct The Bourne Supremacy.

Yeah the Bourne Identity sucked but he did direct Swingers.

I actually want to see Mr and Mrs. Smith on the basis that it was directed by Doug Liaman. The Bourne Identity is of the best flicks in the Espionage/Action genres, if MaMS is half as entertaining - I'll be happy. Supremacy was a little bit of a let down.

I was giving an opinion, not a fact. Therefore there is no "right" or "wrong".

Well, obviously people's tolerances will vary. Considering the excellent box office of the film, obviously a lot of people didn't mind. I also think that sorto f camera work works a lot better on the small screen. I never saw it in the theaters, only on my TV, and can't say the shaky cam ever really bothered me at all. On the big screen, I can imagine it might be nauseating for some.

I would think that these two threads should be sufficient for this discussion.
