An Odd Question About Amadeus

I was just watching my favorite movie, Amadeus, and I noticed something that has been bothering me for quite some time.

In the film all the operas are performed in their native language (Italian or German) but when we get to The Magic Flute at the end of the film, it's perform in English. Why is that?

Creative decision would be my guess. There is music other than The Magic Flute in the film that is performed in English, like the parody opera that his actor friend puts on.

I think that it's to show that those operas were "for the common people." Kind of an "audio metaphor".
