On the plus side, the DVD will include 56 vintage Kenner commercials (COOL!) and an episode of "The Muppet Show" featuring Mark Hamill, C3PO, R2-D2 and Chewbacca.

I got my copy due to the torrent that is bit. It was almost as bad as the Fantastic Four movie. Almost.

I've got a copy that only has the Holiday Special no extras of any sort. I wonder if it's better quality than those that come with the Muppet show and stuff.

Also, the one I have has the original commercials intact.

I imagine that most people have it one way or another...just found it odd that a site like davis would be advertising it as a giveaway...seeing as it is black market only...

Holiday Special is fun to have just so you can show it off to friends who have never heard of it. It works best if slip into casual conversation, like "Revenge of the Sith was the best of all 7 Star Wars movies!" and then when they're like "WTF?" you bust out Holiday Special and everyone has a good laugh about it. If you really want to blow their minds though, show them Turkish Star Wars. ;)

I would love to see those Kenner commercials.

I also have this from the torrential source. I use it on movie nights to clear out the guests who don't want to go home after the feature.

Does anyone here have a this with the 56 Commercials? I have the special on video tape (didn't bother to upgrade)--- But I would love to get the commercials.

Well mine has the ORIGINAL commercials intact (including some SW ones I think).

I'm guessing if Lucasfilm gets word of this, they'll be paying a little visit to DavisDVD.com with a nice little lawsuit. :)

Yeah, I paid through the nose for a bootleg videocassette of it several years back at a STAR TREK convention, only to have watched it one single solitary time...it's really that bad, folks...

It's a movie made by Turkish people that rips off footage from Star Wars (not to mention music from Indiana Jones, Battlestar Galactica, etc.). Most of the stolen footage is used in the opening scene, where our brave Turkish starfighters stand in front of TV screens showing footage of the Battle of Yavin. I'm not kidding, that's really what they did. Also, the Death Star and Alderaan blow up like 3 times each during the unintelligeable introduction, that involves aliens trying to attack Earth but being stopped by Earth's brain shield that's made out of actual brains. The aliens can't penetrate it because they don't have brains, and so they need to capture a human and study it's brain, which is where our heroes come into play when they crash land on the planet of Ancient Egypt, apparently, and are pursued by Turkish Darth Vader's forces. It only gets worse from there.

Anybody have a copy of the special, with or without commercials. I will gladly paypal for the price of dvd, time and shipping..

I still have yet to track this down. Else if somebody knows where I can find it, that would be cool too..

Doesn't make any difference, it's still in violation of copyright. Lucasfilm OWNS the rights to the show and has not authorized distribution of it in any form.

But in order to claim ownership, wouldn't they have to first recognize it's existance? ;)
