NEW YORK (AP) -- <b>Actor Christian Slater was arrested early Tuesday for allegedly groping a woman on a Manhattan street, police said.
Slater, 35, was accused of touching the woman's buttocks near 93rd Street and Third Avenue on the Upper East Side around 1:50 a.m., said a police spokesman, Detective John Sweeney.
The woman, who was not identified, flagged down police to report the incident, Sweeney said. Slater was found nearby and the woman identified him as the man who groped her.
Slater, who's appearing on Broadway in ''The Glass Menagerie,'' was arrested on a charge of third-degree sexual abuse. He was expected Tuesday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Slater starred in the 1980s classic ''Heathers,'' as well as ''True Romance,'' and ''Untamed Heart'' in the 1990s.
In August 1997, he was arrested after he allegedly bit a man in the stomach and threw a police officer against a wall during a rowdy party in Los Angeles. The actor later pleaded no contest to the charges and served 90 days in jail.
He filed for divorce earlier this year from television producer Ryan Haddon. In 2003, Haddon was accused of hitting him with a drinking glass during a fight in their Las Vegas hotel room. She was jailed briefly but no charges were filed.</b>

Arrested for grabbing ass?

M girlfriend & one of my friends & I were at a Starbucks on Broadway last Sunday & after we turned around after placing our order about 3 people back on line was Christian Slater. He was extremely nice we all got our picture with him & he took pictures with a few other people.

If he grabbed my girlfriend's butt I'd have no problem with it. He is the man in True Romance.

Well, it did just say "appearing in", not "starring in". Maybe he's playing "Man #3"?

Apparently he was pretty intoxicated/high at the time, so the inhibitions go right out the window.

A gentleman caller was arrested Tuesday for sexually molesting a young woman in New York. According to on-lookers, the victim, on hiatus from her zoological studies, was confronted by the alleged perpetrator on the sidewalk. The attacker allegedly uttered before the incident, "a nice little clump is what you have." A "clump" is reportedly street slang for the female buttocks.

IIRC, theres only like 4 total roles in the play. So I think he's going to have a good junk of stage time.

Why? It's a form of assault or even sexual battery if the person didn't give permission to be grabbed. I remember hearing a story about a guy who was in a store with with female friend. Well he came up behind, who he thought was this woman, and grabbed her ass playfully. Imagine his shock and horror when the woman turned and he realized it was the wrong woman. He got arrested and I think, I can't remember, but I think he had to register as a sex offender. Harsh but true.


I wonder if Slater will have to register? :eek:

Ok, well even if you think someone should be arrested for touching a woman's butt, I'm assuming this wasn't caught on camera or anything.

Well sure. What man, who isn't gay, doesn't want his ass grabbed by a chick and what man would go get a cop if it happened? I know I wouldn't...unless she took my wallet of course. :lol: However, chicks are far less cool about this kinda thing and there are laws against it so what are you gonna do? How would like it if your wife's ass was grabbed by some stupid star who probably thought he could simply because of who he is?

I work in Radio and a Dj chick I know had her ass grabbed by a famous Rock Star who's known for his "Attention to women". She didn't go get the cops and although she was pissed when it happened she now laughs about it. But again, not all women can find the humor in unsolicited ass grabs.

Angry Slater Protests His Innocence

Movie star Christian Slater is desperate to fight sexual assault charges in New York, insisting he plans to sue police who arrested him. The Heathers star was arrested early yesterday after allegedly feeling a woman's bottom in a New York street, while intoxicated. He grumbled, "This is bulls**t," as police escorted him to court in front of TV cameras, and told reporters he was considering legal action once the incident had been cleared up. In a statement, Slater's publicist said, "We believe this situation is the result of a misunderstanding and we are hopeful that this will be resolved shortly." Slater was booked on two sexual misconduct charges and released from police custody. He's due to appear in court again on June 14. The arrest is not expected to affect Slater's current run in hit Broadway, New York play The Glass Menagerie.
