I'm seeing it on film first. I do want to see it in Digital at some point just to compare.

jarofclay73 05-17-05 10:17 PM

I have no choice...celluloid.

DthRdrX 05-17-05 10:32 PM

I'll see both, though I'll have to take a trip to a state far far away to see the digital probably. I'd prefer to see the film version the first time.

caligulathegod 05-18-05 03:51 AM

Seeing it Thursday on film and Saturday on DLP. 100 mile drive for DLP.

Damn! That's a bit of a drive...

MJKTool 05-18-05 12:28 PM

Hopefully both, but tonight just on film.

iggystar 05-18-05 02:31 PM

Film first.

Space_Monkey 05-18-05 02:38 PM

I have tickets to one of the digital showings at the Cinemark Tinseltown theater in Rochester, NY. Can't wait...

buckee1 05-18-05 03:24 PM

Just celluloid for now but the hunt for a DLP cinema within a 100 mile radius is about to begin.

I'm going there too. My gf works at Kodak and says this will be the beta for the new Kodak DLPs. Should look pretty sweet.

I catch most movies there or at the Majestic in Silver Spring, depends on if I'm leaving from home (Laurel, thus closer to Muvico) or work (closer to Silver Spring).

cool. I really like the Majestic theatres as well as the AFI (right there). Never been the Muvico, read that it's an experience.

al_bundy 05-19-05 12:13 PM

It's not playing in digital at the Ziegfield anymore?

Giles 05-19-05 12:37 PM

if you can't see it in digital DLP, the next best thing is to hear this in Dolby Digital EX 6.1 sound (from my researching of the sound formats - Ep III wasn't even mixed in 8-channel SDDS sound).

Here in the District - Regal Gallery Place has two auditoriums with Dolby Digital EX 35mm presentations:

Screen 10:
12:30 / 3:45 / 7 / 10:15

Screen 12:
12 / 3:15 / 6:50 / 9:45

I want to go DLP this weekend if possible or maybe a week from now.

It's about the same as the Majestic, except the 2 biggest auditoriums are a little bigger than the big ones at Majestic. And they have curved screens, which if I recall correctly Majestic doesn't.

Other than that about the same, aside from the egyptian Decor in the lobby and auditorum walls. Arundle Mills a very nice mall as well.

celluloid so I can get all the color fading in and out and bad sound scratches which we did this morning. The scene where anakin learns the truth about Palps went from clear to yellow back to clear about 3 times in a few seconds. Gotta love it. ;)

Y2K Falcon 05-19-05 04:58 PM

This should be a multi-choice allowed poll.

Both...

Celluloid this morning, DLP next week. May surprise the stepson with tix...

cruzness 05-19-05 05:06 PM

Actually Both. This week I will see it on celuloid here in Gainesville. Next week I wil see it in Daytona Beach with my wife's nephew on DLP.

Gutz 05-19-05 05:12 PM

Easy...DLP.

This was my first DLP viewing and WOW it looked great! It's funny cause the first thing I noticed was the big green screen they show before each preview. I was like "look at that green!" It was so bright and uniform. The movie looked great; no scratches or hairs. Nice steady picture with no jitter, no jarring splices. I didn't notice any artifacting or pixelization but I wasn't looking that closely. Thumbs up from me. The bonus was that after the movie, my g/f saw her friend from Kodak and he gave us a tour of the booth..very cool.

no, tre cool

TomOpus 05-20-05 04:49 PM

I've seen it twice now on DLP but I'm curious how it looks on film. Anyone been to both yet?

garyb 05-20-05 05:03 PM

Is there an actual list of all the theaters showing it in DLP? I tried nearby cities' zip codes with no luck and it would be easier to see a list. Looking for something near the carolinas or georgia.
