Elvira Madagan late sixties, married her in 69, still married. Sweedish movie with English subtitles. Funny I just found it on DVD and bought it for our anniversary. Went to the drive in once in the late sixties and had a bad CO leak and nearly killed us. Was bad enough that Gail passed out and I recovered just in time to get us out. WOW what a headache for days.

That reminds me, the first time I asked my wife out was to go see the Exorcist re-release with a group of my friends. She turned me down.

I had been trying to date a co-worker for a long time. We finally went out to a movie. Innocent enough. On Valentine's day, we decided to stay in and hang out at her place (she was living with her folks then) and we rented the Exorcist to watch. I got my first kiss from her that night.

He let me choose the movie. I chose "American Beauty", unaware of its contents. Well, the guy is mormon. He felt really uncomfortable during the whole movie and kept shielding his eyes. Somewhere during the "F--- me, your majesty!" scene, he got up and just left the theatre. I happily stayed, knowing nothing could ever happen between us if something like this offended him. The film became one of my all-time favorites, and the guy moved away to Utah.

A friend of mine in university took a first (and last) date to see True Romance based on nothing more than the title. She hated it, he loved it.

Regarding first dates that included a movie:

-Swordfish: lasted 1 date
-The Mexican: lasted 2 dates
-My Big Fat Greek Wedding: lasted about half a date

neither of my 2 most serious relationships started with a movie. interesting indeed.

50 First Dates. We saw it 50 times for some reason? Just kidding I own the DVD but actually never saw or went to see this movie yet.

I took my girlfriend to see Seed of Chucky (her choice!) at the 50 cent movie theater for our first date. We are gonna see Star Wars III together this week. I love her so much! (not just because of movies of course.)

Eerie. My dad also took my mother to see The Exorcist when they first went out. Turns out she hates movies with any blood, guts, etc. in them.

Wow. Who would have thought the Exorcist would be a top choice?

I've got the best (or worst?) one, Boogie Nights! HA, beat that for odd first date choice! It was back in high school, I did end up dating that girl for about a year though.

My dad often brags that he took more women to see Young Frankenstein than any other film. Of course, the one woman he didn't take to see it is my mother...

Took a girl to see Austin Powers 1 and she didn't laugh once during the movie and said she hated it. After that I didn't take her out again.

My first date with my now-wife was to see "Bridget Jones Diary". When the credits rolled at the end was when we had our first kiss.
