Star Wars Babes

From IGN:

#10 - Zam Wesell (Leanna Walsman)
As you'll see in this feature, Lucas has a habit of casting megababes in bit parts. Unfortunately, their good looks are sometimes obscured by odd makeup, costumes or prosthetics. In the case of Zam Wesell, despite the fact that she's wearing that horribly unflattering metal hat, you can still tell Leeanna Walsman is a babe. Leeanna got her start on the Australian stage – that's where she was noticed by the Star Wars casting director – and has gone on to star in a number of television series.

#9 - Ann & Tann Gella (Nifa & Nishan Hindes)
Who?! You know... the two Twi'lek twin masseuses that were with Sebulba (that pimp!) in Episode I. They weren't in the movie for very long, but they got plenty of attention given their brief appearance. They even had their own CCG card, remember? Since the days of Episode I, the girls that played the blue-skinned Twi'lek twins, Nifa and Nishan Hindes, have gone on to establish modeling careers. Watch for 'em.

#8 - Beru (Shelag Fraser & Bonnie Piesse)
Respect! Aunt Beru was one sassy lady back in the day. She may have spent most of her time in the kitchen, but you can bet Uncle Owen never complained. Well, okay... maybe Aunt Beru wasn't such a babe (unless you're into that kind of thing), but the new (old) Beru, played by Bonnie Piesse in Episode II, raises the character's babe factor enough to make our list.

#7 - Oola (Femi Taylor)
Oola, the dancer from Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi, is a classic Star Wars babe. Yeah, I don't really know how she stacks up by today's standards, but back in the day... man, there was just something about her. Don't you agree? The actress that played Oola, Femi Taylor, is still rockin' after all of these years, as evidenced by her recent appearance at Celebration III.

#6 - Aurra Sing (Michonne Bourriague)
Here's a prime example of Lucas taking a perfectly fine looking chick and dressing her up all weird. Model Michonne Bourriague had a super-brief appearance as Aurra Sing in Episode I (mostly to support a tie-in with some "expanded universe" product), but she left a lasting impression on fans. Her character was based on a concept sketch by Doug Chiang that he called "Babe Fett." Nice. Michonne is apparently spending most her time these days modeling skimpy swimsuits and making the convention rounds with Mara Jade model Shannon Baksa. (Note: Baksa lovers may be wondering why she didn't make our list. It's because she isn't actually in any of the films. Don't cry.)

http://ffmedia.ign.com/starwars/imag...1115407120.jpg

#5 - Dorme (Rose Byrne)
Honestly, there's not a whole lot that stands out about Padme's handmaiden Dorme in Episode II. Maybe they were intentionally downplaying her looks as to not interfere with the allure of Natalie Portman. That said, there's no denying that Rose Byrne is a hottie. Since Episode II came out her career has really taken off. She's starred in Troy and Wicker Park, and is currently filming Sofia Coppolla's Marie-Antoinette.

http://ffmedia.ign.com/starwars/imag...1115407226.jpg

#4 - Sabe (Keira Knightley)
Right now some of you are thinking... "Keira Knightley was in Star Wars?!" Yeah, get with it. Knightley played Queen Amidala's decoy in The Phantom Menace. Sure, you couldn't really tell she was a babe back then, but Keira has had so much success in the past several years that we just had to put her on our list. So lovely.

http://ffmedia.ign.com/starwars/imag...1115407900.jpg

#3 - Aayla Secura (Amy Allen)
Amy Allen gets much props! Not only is she the beautiful Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura in Episode II and III, she's a visual effects artist for ILM. Most recently, Amy served as the visual effects coordinator on Elektra. You'll be able to see her on the big screen later this month in Episode III. Amy has also been making the convention rounds, so there's sure to be plenty of pics of her online in the company of geeky, overweight dudes.

http://ffmedia.ign.com/starwars/imag...1115407991.jpg

#2 - Padme (Natalie Portman)
Natalie Portman reprises her role as the lovely Padme Amidala in Episode III. This time she's gonna be preggers, so don't expect those sexy outfits she wore in Attack of the Clones. Coming off critically acclaimed performances in Garden State and Closer, Miss Portman is currently filming the graphic novel adaptation of V for Vendetta. What else can we say? We love Nat.

#1 - Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher)
We like our Star Wars babes with some sass, and that's why the top spot in our countdown belongs to Princess Leia. Carrie Fisher's portrayal of the improper princess easily makes her the standout babe from all six Star Wars flicks. And then there's the whole metal bikini factor. I think that played an important part in the hormonal development of every male child of the 1980s. Princess Leia, we salute you!

TOP TEN BABES WE WANT TO SEE IN THE ROTJ SLAVE GIRL LEIA OUTFIT:

10. Angelina Jolie
You'd pout too if you got licked constantly by a fat space slug who routinely eats live frogs… and Jolie has the lips for the pouting. If you've ever seen Gia or Original Sin, you know she's capable of filling Carrie Fisher's… er… shoes. The only potential drawback (and the reason she falls to 10), is the fact that a miniscule amount of clothing might expose that silly Billy Bob tat, and no one wants that.

9. Kirsten Dunst
Spider-Man's girlfriend is a bona fide hottie, and after the rain-soaked alley kiss with the webslinger, we want one more thing from Ms. Dunst: to appear in the Slave Leia outfit. Seeing her thusly will give us eternal sunshine in our no-so-spotless minds.

8. Jessica Biel
Ever since her steamy Gear photo shoot, Jessica Biel has not only been on our radar, she's that giant, throbbing green dot pulsing at the center. In Blade Trinity, she looked great in leather, but we'd be willing to bet she'd be twice as nice in Leia garb.

7. Halle Berry
Nothing wrong with the classics. Although Catwoman was a disaster, the various suits that Halle slinked into looked purrrrfect. Berry's a Bond girl, but that doesn't come within shouting distance of how hot she'd look in the Leia suit.

6. Uma Thurman
If anyone can kick Jabba's ass, it's Uma. And in terms of looking good in a gold-plated bikini and loincloth, Ms. Thurman definitely has the goods to get the job done. If only she would wear the Slave Leia outfit, wield a lightsaber and take on Gogo from Kill Bill, Vol. 1, we might just have one-stop fantasy shopping taken care of.

5. Eva Green
Have you see The Dreamers? It may be pretentious pseudo-French film, but trust us. Eva Green is a AAA certified hottay, and this movie features her in all of her glory. While you can't get better than that, the next best thing would be to see her all dolled up for Jabba's palace.

4. Jennifer Aniston
Okay, we're cheating here because Jennifer has already appeared in an episode of Friends in this get-up… and guess what? She was hot! While no one in the free world can understand her attraction to that Styrofoam tool Ross, everyone can understand his attraction to her. The Leia outfit simply underlined and bolded what we already knew: SCHWING!

3. Natalie Portman
Any of you out there hoping for a pseudo-icky mother/daughter connection, here you go. Since Natalie's character Padme is actually Leia's mother, thinking about this might make your head hurt (or other parts of your body). Instead, focus hard on imagining her moves from Closer while she's in the official costume of the Organa family.

2. Elisha Cuthbert
Elisha very nearly made #1, and she probably would have if it wasn't for Alba's turn in that little Frank Miller movie that came out. Still, we editors carry a serious torch for this House of Wax beauty, and the thought of her in the Leia outfit makes us melt.

1. Jessica Alba
Jabba is all about making his ladies dance, and as we saw from Sin City, Alba has the gyrating Oola moves down pat. We know she's got the curves to make it work, and the snarl to make us sweat. Plus, she looks strong, so strangling Jabba would be no problem

IanH 05-12-05 05:23 PM

Great list. But I'd put Zam at #6. She didn't do so bad considering she was up against two Jedi. But was it really a she or a he? Whatever.

I wasn't the first to post this (page 91 of the Uber thread) but dangit if I can stop looking at these pics.

My #1 spot!

mikehunt 05-13-05 12:43 AM

Oola is fugly, and it's not the color or the twilek head tails

PopcornTreeCt 05-13-05 12:56 AM

I'd put a bunch of those chicks before Carrie Fisher.

bboisvert 05-13-05 10:12 AM

They include the Twi'lek twins in the background of Episode I, but don't include Shaak Ti?

I demand a recount!

raven56706 05-13-05 10:17 AM

Why is Kristen Dunst in that list.... she would look ugly in that outfit

PixyJunket 05-13-05 10:24 AM

Pathetic.

Knightley played Queen Amidala's decoy
She should have played Queen Amidala as far as I'm concerned.

i agree that natalie portman hasnt done the best acting in the star wars prequels (not that she had great lines to work with)... but she is by FAR the hottest chick on that list. Carrie Fisher should be like #10... if on the list at all. Ok, she sort of redeemed herself with that outfit in ROTJ, but come on, NP is smokin.

Nice list, Carrie Fisher deserves number 1

Well, Natalie has had her moments. But my problem with Natalie is she looks like she doesn't even want to be there. Her attitude more often than not seems shitty, and there have been a few reports about this. I remember her whining about not having any friends on the set of TPM. Come on, you're a professional actress doing a job, and getting paid quite a bit. Suck it up. This isn't recess. Not only that, she looks like she doesn't care at all. Even when Hayden was not so good, he looked like he was trying his ass off and his attitidue, especially in interviews and promoting the films has always been top notch. Not so with Portman. Natalie looks like she isn't even trying.

I just think Knightley would have brought more spunk and attitude(good attitude) to the role of Padme. I also think she might have had better chemistry with Hayden.

Dr. DVD 05-13-05 09:14 PM

Anybody ever heard of Pink Five? Hope you will soon! ;)

Mondo Kane 05-13-05 10:19 PM

Still no love for Queen Jamila?
Might not be no Aishwarya Rai, but she's still a cutie.

jekbrown 05-13-05 10:19 PM

i agree that NP isn't the most entusiastic chick in the star wars universe... still, she gets my vote for hotest. :)

Honestly, I've never found Natalie's acting in the movie distracting. I have yet to see her promote the film though. Would Kiera have been a happier camper? Possibly. But acting wise she's not close to the same level as Natalie.

And now I will stop defending someone I've never met. :)

Possibly, but I do believe she would have been better as Padme, and would have given a better performance.

Michael T Hudson 05-14-05 09:59 AM

On a side note does anyone know what kind of money she is getting paid for the movies?

jedione12 05-14-05 02:49 PM

Star Wars III, hottest actress??

my vote's for bai ling, hands-down. even though it's been announced that's she's been cut from the movie, all you need to do is check out playboy's june issue to nod your head in agreement..a blue light saber never looked so good :)

You could have made this a poll...You could have put it in the Star Wars Subforum...or you could have just clicked on this thread...

Star Wars Babes

Cygnet74 05-14-05 03:35 PM

you come into a movie forum... don't see any threads on Star Wars... and this is the topic you start?

Jazzbutcher 05-14-05 04:57 PM

I know I'll upset a lot of fanboys with this comment, but "Carrie Fisher" and "babe" shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. Ever.
