The only ad/blurb I've seen for this film is the trailer linked to this thread.

Oh just don't worry about it. Each of those films sport budgets that are anywhere from 3 to 10 times what Land of the Dead costs, along with bigger marketing budgets. If you're expecting a marketing campaign that rivals Batman and War of the Worlds, you're goign to be sorely disaopinted. And don't forget there are mild restrictions on when R rated movies can be normally advertised. Not to mention, most of the movies you mentioned are not having regular tv commercials, though it's possible what you were watching had singular ads. But mosto f them are not in regular commercial rotation, and everyone one of them is a bigger film.

Don't worry...the film will be advertised, but nobody, nobody thinks this is a 100 million dollar film so don't expect it to get the blitz that some other films will have.

JAEUFRASER - I'm just having fun.
I know LOTD only has a $12 Million budget.

I was just goofing around. LOTD should do fine. The first 14 minutes were screened at Cannes last weekend and the reviews have been excellent. The violence/carnage begins just two minutes into it.

I can't wait!

A new trailer was delivered to theaters this week. I haven't seen it yet but I assume it's attached to The Longest Yard.

I've kept my mouth shut for 12 days.
Now, I am getting kind of nervous.

Universal better get on the ball with this one.

Maxpower - I don't know if you're only joking, but I've spoke with many people in the last week who have no idea that this film is coming out or that it was even made.

Come on! Start the promotion machine now Universal...before it's too late!!

You're actually George Romero in disguise, aren't you?

Fine, I'll go see it so you don't have to keep plugging your movie at a DVD forum, it's embarrassing.

At least it got a decent movie poster:

Has a nice retro zombie movie look to it.

I finally saw a commercial for this during the NBA game on ESPN tonight! It starts out with the Universal logo in front of a dead planet Earth. The two moments I remember had an awesome shot of a zombie emerging out of water(Apacalypse Now) and a close up of Asia.

As if on cue...they decided to run a commercial, as mentioned above, during the NBA game last night. Just caught part of the commercial. Will look forward to some zombie fun.

I caught the LOTD TV commercial by chance while checking the score of the Pistons game last evening.
I feel better now.

I hope the Universal promo machine goes into full motion very soon.

And yes, NAITRAM I am George A. Romero. ...I wish.

The fact that you even need to question this or feel like Universal is going to promote this enough is silly.

I actually saw 3 ads for Land of the Dead this past weekend. 2 during the NBA playoffs...Heat V Pistons...and one during the MTV show "I want a famous Face". Can't think of a better place to advertise than the NBA playoffs and MTV. Hits the target audience square in the head. It got me excited. But to be honest...I'll forget about it by the time June 24th rolls around.

and that is exactly why you don't need a marketing push till the two weeks before release time.

Shit, look at Lords of dogtown. I saw the blitz of marketing for the last two or three weeks and I thought it was coming out this past weekend.

Here is the first review of this flick that I've found, and it's a good'un (spoiler-free):

SOTA TOYS ENTERS THE "LAND OF THE DEAD"! - 6/6/2005

NOW PLAYING PRESENTS “LAND OF THE DEAD”!
June 6, 2005: Legendary filmmaker George Romero presents his Ultimate Zombie Masterpiece… and SOTA Toys will bring you the Ultimate Zombie action figures!

SOTA Toys is proud to announce action figures based off of Universal Pictures’ upcoming fourth installment in George Romero’s “…Dead” saga - Land of the Dead, in theaters June 24th.

With the living dead encompassing the world, the last human survivors are holed up in a walled city, the wealthy living above the fallen world as if nothing has happened. But those that live beneath the skyscrapers know that things are about to change for the worst - the zombies have begun to evolve!

“We’re stoked to be working on the latest installment of the “Dead” series,” said SOTA Toys’ Jerry Macaluso. “If you’re going to make zombie movie action figures, you might as well make the best. George Romero is THE undisputed King of the Dead.”

While still in development, the movie figures will be released under SOTA Toys’ Now Playing lineup of 7” scale figures. Tentatively scheduled are figures of
Spoiler:
zombie “leader” Big Daddy (Eugene Clark), Blade (Tom Savini) and Cholo (John Leguizamo)
with a fourth figure to be announced at a later date.

Look for “Land of the Dead” figures to be released in early 2006.
EDIT: Spoilerized characters, just in case.

I have no confirmation of this...but the sheer demographics of the audience almost dictate that there'll be a few TV spots during the MTV Movie Awards today.

Loved all the shitty rolling banner ads I had to attest through last night and this morning on Fandango while trying to buy Serenity tickets.

And despite the banner ads are shitty, I'll still be in the theater on 6-24.

Could have been worse, on movietickets we had Sharkboy and Lava Girl (zero interest in seeing) and Honeymooners (is there such a thing as less than zero interest?)

Adding to insult was the lack of tickets.

I caught a trailer during the SNL repeat Saturday. It's funny, that promo wasn't very impressive which is weird to me because the other promos have seemed much better. I'm glad I saw those before the one during SNL otherwise I'd have little interest in the film.

Yep, Land of the Dead was cool when it was hardcore and underground, but now it's just mainstream drivel. I think I'm going to save my money and just wait for the next Olsen Twins movie instead.
